The peak period of crime suppression and attack will start from December 15, 2023 to February 29, 2024, aiming to stabilize the political security (SPS) situation and social order and safety (SSO) in the province. Create a proactive position in all situations, prevent sudden changes and surprises, ensure security and safety of important political and social events of the country and locality, festivals, entertainment activities of the people, especially activities during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin - 2024 and early spring festivals.

During the peak period, the Provincial Police focused on forces and means and proactively grasped the situation, advised Party committees and authorities at all levels to direct and guide agencies, departments and branches, promptly resolved complicated and prolonged cases and issues, and did not let them become "hot spots" of security and order.

At the same time, strengthen professional measures, grasp and manage areas and subjects well; detect and fight fiercely against all types of crimes; be determined not to let particularly serious criminal cases occur and minimize traffic accidents and fires.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized: During the Lunar New Year, the situation of security and order, social order and safety in the country in general and the province in particular often tends to be complicated.

Criminal, drug and social evils will increase, especially theft, robbery, property robbery, gambling and drug crimes. Protection and debt collection activities of gangs and groups are likely to reappear.

Smuggling, production and trading of counterfeit and poor quality goods will be active. Crime and violations of the law on weapons, explosives, supporting tools and firecrackers will occur. Violations of food hygiene and safety will become common.

Besides, the traffic volume is high and will negatively impact traffic safety and public order.

In order to effectively ensure security and order for the New Year, the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, political events, spring festivals and protect the safety of people celebrating Tet, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Police to promote the core role, preside, coordinate, mobilize the strength of all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations and the masses in the province to participate in preventing, fighting and suppressing crimes, ensuring social order and safety; create an overwhelming atmosphere for criminals, not allowing criminals the opportunity and conditions to operate.

Proactively grasp and closely and accurately assess the security and order situation in the area to develop plans, set goals, measures, and assign specific and appropriate forces to effectively carry out the peak period of attacking and suppressing crime.

Advise Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen state management of security and order; promptly resolve complicated issues at the grassroots level to avoid prolonging and creating hot spots.

Focus on resolutely implementing measures to attack, suppress, and hunt down all types of crimes, especially organized crimes, illegal credit, gambling, disturbing public order, robbery, snatching, extortion, theft, and fraud.

Destroy drug trafficking and transportation networks, drug organizations and illegal drug use; step up the fight against corruption, economic crimes, smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

Timely detect and combat crimes and violations of the law on environment, resources, minerals, and food safety. Create a strong change in the fight against crime, stop criminal activities, and prevent very serious and extremely serious incidents from occurring.

Implement well the work of ensuring traffic safety and order, focus on handling violations of alcohol and drug concentrations and violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents, and prevent illegal racing.

Improve the effectiveness of administrative management of social order, focusing on implementing well the management of household registration, temporary residence, temporary absence, entry and exit, fire and explosion prevention and control.

In addition, strictly implement the regime of leadership, command, shift and combat duty; regularly patrol and control during peak hours, key areas and routes, promptly detect and prevent all types of crimes, sabotage activities causing fires, explosions, illegal use of fireworks before, during and after Tet, especially on New Year's Eve.
