Quang Ngai proposed that the Ministry of Transport direct VEC to urgently carry out procedures to complete the construction of the Tri Binh - Dung Quat intersection.

Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has just sent a report to the Ministry of Transport regarding the review of connection and investment in expressways passing through the province.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, for the route connecting to the intersection Km19+300, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, belonging to provincial road DT.624B (Ham An Beach - Da Chat), from National Highway 1 to Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, the length of the route that needs to be upgraded and expanded is about 4.7km, the roadbed is 9m wide, the road surface is 7m wide, with a total investment of about 200 billion VND.

This is an urgent connection route that needs investment capital soon in the 2021-2025 period to ensure convenient connection from National Highway 1 to the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway (expected to be basically completed in 2025), but currently there is no capital allocated for implementation.

Quang Ngai province also proposed the Ministry of Transport to add Tinh Tho intersection (Km120+950), Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway. Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee said that according to the overall adjustment project of the Dung Quat Economic Zone Master Plan until 2045 (approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 168/QD-TTg, dated February 28, 2023), the Bac Tinh Phong - Binh Chau route connects the service and tourism center of the Southeast Dung Quat Urban Area with Tinh Phong urban area and Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway at Tinh Tho intersection.

Previously, in the sent document (No. 4968/UBND-KTN, dated October 5, 2023), the Provincial People's Committee mentioned the above intersection, because the distance to Bac Quang Ngai intersection (Km123+700) is only about 2.75 km, so it will consider proposing to implement the investment at the appropriate time.

However, currently, the Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks are implementing procedures to implement the Dung Quat Southeast New Urban Area project - North and the Dung Quat Southeast New Urban Area project - South, so the Provincial People's Committee requests the Ministry of Transport to consider supplementing it for implementation in the coming time.

Speaking to Dau Tu Dien, Mr. Nguyen Phong, Director of Quang Ngai Department of Transport, said that the Bac Quang Ngai intersection of National Highway 24B from Km23+50 to Km29 has not been invested in and still follows the old road. Meanwhile, the current road surface is only 6 m wide, not ensuring the transportation of goods, causing congestion, so transportation businesses encounter many difficulties when going to Dung Quat port.

In addition, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province proposed that the Ministry of Transport continue to direct VEC to urgently carry out procedures to deploy the completion of the Tri Binh intersection (Km101+740), Binh Son district in 2025.

Early approval of the feasibility study report for the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 24B (section Km23+050-Km29+800), to implement construction to conveniently connect with the Bac Quang Ngai intersection (Km123+700), on the Da Nang-Quang Ngai expressway.

Investing in intersections to ensure convenient connection from National Highway 1 to Quang Ngai Expressway. Research and arrange capital sources to soon implement the construction of Binh Long intersection (Km1 13+850) and upgrade and expand the road leading from the expressway to National Highway 1 (at Km132-Km139, belonging to the intersection Km1+500), in the period 2026-2030.
