Recently, international tourists were excited to watch a video about Hue on the world's leading American television channel CNN. The 30-second video was broadcast on many CNN programs (The Lead, First Move, CNN Newsroom...) and on CNN's digital platforms.
The clip opens at Tu Duc Tomb, one of the most typical mausoleum complexes of the Nguyen Dynasty. According to Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram, throughout the video, a message has been affirmed that Hue is not only a heritage land, but also an endless flow of culture, people and time. Besides historical and cultural values, the video is also a poetic invitation to international tourists: Come to Hue to live slowly, to feel, to touch the depth of an Eastern civilization that is still alive every day.
Notably, the element of local experience is emphasized in the video clip and in the synchronized communication campaigns: From the journey to discover Do Quyen waterfall hidden in the middle of Bach Ma forest, rowing on Chuon lagoon, to folk painting activities in Sinh village - where the quintessence of Hue folk woodblock art is preserved.

The promotional campaign on the world's leading television channel CNN is considered a methodical step in the journey to position the brand "Hue - heritage city, green, attractive and classy destination" on the global tourism map. Especially, when Vietnam tourism is entering a period of strong recovery, competition to attract international visitors is increasingly fierce, implementing this promotional campaign brings many opportunities to develop tourism in the ancient capital. With the prestige and coverage of CNN, the image of Hue will reach millions of viewers around the world, thereby enhancing the position of this destination on the international tourism map.

In recent times, the tourism industry, units and businesses in Hue have made careful preparations to focus on promoting communication, advertising and introducing destinations and new products to create an attractive effect to strongly attract visitors and attract visitors to return. At the end of June 2025, the European KOLs famtrip group had 3 days of interesting surveys and experiences in Hue. Most recently, in 2 days (August 6-7), the Hue City Department of Tourism also coordinated with Vietnam Airlines to welcome and introduce special destinations to the KOLs group from Australia. This is one of the specific activities in the strategy to promote and promote Hue tourism to the international market, aiming at young customers who have a taste for experiences, love to explore culture and have a widespread influence on social networks.
The leaders of the Department of Tourism shared that the methodical, professional and effective organization of famtrip, survey and experience programs for KOLs groups is also a lever for digital communication and international tourism promotion. Each survey and experience trip is not only a normal field activity but also an in-depth communication strategy, combining destination marketing with the spread of social networks.
