Phu Tho ranked 10th out of 63 provinces and cities in terms of provincial competitiveness index (PCI).

On May 9, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announced the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and Provincial Green Index (PGI) 2023. With 69.10 points, Phu Tho ranked 10th in the ranking of 63 provinces and cities with the best governance quality.

The Provincial Competitiveness Index 2023 rankings were announced on the morning of May 9.

According to the VCCI report, Phu Tho has a total score of 69.10 points, rising 14 places (from 24th in 2022) to rank 10th out of 63 provinces and cities in terms of Provincial Competitiveness Index. This is Phu Tho's highest ranking ever. 7/10 PCI criteria in 2023 of Phu Tho province increased, in which the province was highly appreciated by businesses for the quality of labor training and business support policies. This result demonstrates the objective and impartial assessment of investors and businesses, properly recognizing the tireless efforts of the political system and authorities at all levels of Phu Tho province in achieving the goal of constantly improving the quality and satisfaction of serving the people and businesses.

According to the 2023 PCI Index Ranking of localities across the country, with 71.25 points, Quang Ninh continues to hold the No. 1 position, leading the PCI rankings.

The PCI and PGI Index Report 2023 marks the 19-year journey of the PCI Index being built and published and the second year of publishing the PGI Index. This is a specific and practical result in implementing important policies of the Party and State over the past years on promoting administrative procedure reform, improving the quality of the business environment, restructuring the economy, renewing the growth model and recently balancing economic development and sustainable environment, social equity and developing a green and carbon-neutral economy. In particular, this is an important activity to implement Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period, most directly the task: "Creating a favorable, safe and equal investment and business environment for entrepreneurs and enterprises to develop and contribute".
