Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Binh Minh inspects the temporary housing elimination program in Ngoc Long and Du Gia communes.

On August 11 and 12, implementing the peak month of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, comrade Nguyen Binh Minh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television, had a working session with Ngoc Long and Du Gia communes to check the progress of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the commune.

According to the review, in 2025, Ngoc Long commune has 183 households in need of support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses. Of these, 119 households will build new houses and 64 households will repair their houses. To date, the commune has completed 133 houses, 50 houses are under construction, and the disbursed budget has reached more than 2 billion VND. During the implementation process, the Party Committee and the commune government have actively mobilized the participation of the entire political system and mobilized organizations and individuals to support working days and materials to help disadvantaged households. In particular, the commune Fatherland Front Committee has launched a campaign to raise 23 million VND to support households in building houses.

In Du Gia commune, there are 24 households in need of support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses. Up to now, most of the households have completed the construction and repair of their houses, while one household is still under construction.

During the implementation of the program, the communes encountered some difficulties such as many households did not have legal land to build houses; difficulties in transporting materials, increasing labor and construction material prices; effects of weather; some households did not have counterpart funds to build houses... also affecting the construction progress.

Comrade Nguyen Binh Minh highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Party Committees and authorities of the communes in implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, he requested the Party Committees and local authorities to continue reviewing and removing difficulties and obstacles, mobilizing social resources, integrating and effectively using capital sources to support poor households and those with housing difficulties, speeding up the construction progress, striving to complete on time to help people soon settle down and make a living.
