Recently, the situation of violations of environmental protection laws in the province has had complicated developments, especially in the fields of hazardous waste management, mineral resource exploitation, and food safety and hygiene.

In order to proactively prevent and combat crimes and violations in the environmental field, in recent times, the environmental police force of the Provincial Police has advised the Party Committee and authorities from the province to the grassroots level to effectively direct the implementation of many positive solutions in the prevention, combat and resolution of environmental issues. At the same time, proactively coordinate with functional agencies to do a good job of propaganda and education to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of cadres and people for environmental protection.

In particular, the environmental police force and the police of districts, towns and cities have synchronously deployed professional measures, conducted inspections, grasped the situation, proactively prevented, detected and strictly handled violations of environmental protection laws. In 2022 and 7 months of 2023, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police discovered and inspected nearly 800 violations in the field of environmental protection; completed prosecution files for 19 cases; and administratively sanctioned more than 760 cases with a total fine of over 15 billion VND.
