Comrade Dao Duy Tung was born into a patriotic Confucian family in Co Loa commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city. Family tradition and the revolutionary tradition of his hometown Co Loa have forged the noble qualities, intelligence and talent of a high-ranking leader and an outstanding thinker and theorist of the Party.

After the August Revolution in 1945, comrade Dao Duy Tung was admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party and was the first Party Cell Secretary of Co Loa commune. He held many positions such as: Deputy Secretary of the Phuc Yen Provincial Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Viet Bac Regional Party Committee's People's Mobilization Committee; Deputy Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Editor-in-Chief of the Study Magazine (now the Communist Magazine) and Standing Member of the Central Theoretical Research Department; Director of the Institute for Marxism-Leninism Research; Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Standing Member of the Politburo - Secretariat...

During his revolutionary career, no matter what position he held, comrade Dao Duy Tung always showed himself to be a loyal and devoted communist, a senior leader with innovative thinking and high intellectual vision, making great contributions to the Party's revolutionary cause.

For many years in his position as a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Propaganda Department, he devoted all his efforts and intelligence to leading and directing activities to summarize practices, research theories, and build scientific arguments to contribute to the formation of the Party's Platform and renewal policies.

In his speech at the ceremony, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung emphasized that Comrade Dao Duy Tung - a loyal and devoted communist soldier who devoted his whole life to the Party's goals and ideals - is a shining example for cadres, party members and people of the capital to follow. The Party Committee and people of Hanoi are extremely proud to have Comrade Dao Duy Tung, one of the outstanding sons of the heroic and "thousand-year-old" capital.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung affirmed: Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi are proud of their revolutionary tradition and outstanding achievements in the cause of building and defending the capital. Since the day of liberation, over the past 70 years, Hanoi has continuously grown, worthy of the trust and love of the people of the whole country. Learning from and following the example of comrade Dao Duy Tung, we vow to forever follow the path chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho and our people; successfully continuing the glorious revolutionary cause of our predecessors and previous generations.

Representing the young generation of the Capital speaking at the Commemoration Ceremony, member Chu Hoa Bao Tram, Foreign Trade University, expressed that although she only knew about comrade Dao Duy Tung through his works and articles of feelings from his friends, comrades and colleagues, Bao Tram always had a special respect for him.
