Promoting the role of a prestigious person among ethnic minorities , Mr. Ha Ngoc Chuc , in Thuan area , My Thuan commune , Tan Son district, became a "bridge" connecting local departments, branches and organizations in propagating and mobilizing people to well implement the ethnic and religious policies of the Party and State .

Over a cup of hot tea on an early winter morning, Mr. Ha Ngoc Chuc shared with us that from 2006 until now, after being elected by the people as a prestigious person in the community, in his role, he has always wondered "How to make the homeland more civilized, improve the cultural life of the people, and develop the economy". Therefore, in recent years, he has accompanied the Party Committee, the government and functional forces to mobilize people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; and mobilize people to participate in building new rural areas.

In 2011, when the new rural construction movement was launched in My Thuan, Mr. Chuc took the lead in mobilizing people to donate land to clear the ground for inter-commune roads. Thanks to his perseverance and dedication, the 2km long road connecting the communes was completed, making it easier for people to travel, promoting trade and improving economic life. Not stopping there, he continued to call on people to contribute labor and money to build a 400m long cement concrete road leading to the cultural house in Thuan area.

In addition to building infrastructure, Mr. Chuc also mobilized people to maintain annual contributions to repair rural roads, upgrade cultural houses and purchase equipment for cultural activities and meetings. These projects not only improve living conditions but also strengthen solidarity among households in the area.

Following Mr. Chuc to visit households in the area, we can see the love and trust that the people have for him. Ms. Phung Thi Vang, Thuan area, My Thuan commune said: “We feel very secure and trust Mr. Chuc because he is always close, listens to the wishes and thoughts of the people and helps bring information to the commune government for quick resolution. Most of the conflicts in families and villages, Mr. Chuc, together with the sectors and organizations in the area, participates in resolving and successfully mediating. He also helps households in the area build livelihood models to improve their income and improve their quality of life.”

In addition to mobilizing resources for infrastructure projects, Mr. Chuc also plays an important role in disseminating laws and raising people's sense of responsibility. He regularly organizes meetings to share with people about the State's policies and regulations, guiding them to abandon backward customs and replace them with a more civilized and modern lifestyle; focusing on building a cultural life in residential areas, implementing grassroots democracy regulations.

Mr. Ha Ngoc Chuc informed the commune government and promptly supported Ms. Phung Thi Vuong's household to build a new residence after the damage caused by storm No. 3.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Thuan Commune, Ha Van Thuyn, assessed: "The patience and enthusiasm of Mr. Chuc as well as prestigious people have helped Thuan area to continuously achieve the title of "Cultural Residential Area" for many years. In the residential area, there are no social evils, no domestic violence, no incestuous marriages, cumbersome rituals in funerals, weddings, and festivals have been eliminated,... In particular, the contributions of prestigious people in the Thuan community have contributed to the effective implementation of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period (National Target Program 1719) in the commune. Thanks to that, the lives of people in My Thuan commune have been increasingly improved, becoming an exemplary community, where people develop together in the spirit of solidarity and mutual love".

For his contributions, Mr. Chuc has been recognized and rewarded by all levels and sectors for many years. At the age of 81, Mr. Ha Ngoc Chuc still continues to contribute, maintaining his role as an extension of the local government, contributing to building the great national unity bloc and a strong political system.
