The 2024 Peace Festival has the theme "Joining hands to build a peaceful world". Throughout the Festival are rich, diverse and attractive programs, reflecting traditional and contemporary cultural features of national and international significance.

Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Festival for Peace, said that the Festival aims to honor the value of peace, pay tribute to heroic martyrs, commemorate war victims; contribute to enhancing the position and image of the country and people of Vietnam; build Quang Tri into a cultural space for peace, attracting a large number of peace-loving tourists from home and abroad to Quang Tri. This is a national-scale program, reaching international level, the largest festival ever organized by the province. Up to now, the important contents of the preparation work have been basically completed.

As planned, the opening night of the festival will feature a special art program taking place at 8 p.m. on July 6 at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Historical Site, with the theme "Connecting Bridges".

The program features many famous domestic and international artists; with a music stage, a multi-space combination of onshore and under-river scenes, connecting the two North-South axes of the Ben Hai River through the historic Hien Luong Bridge. The artistic idea of ​​the program is emotional touches connecting the past and the future, conveying the spirit of proactive integration of Quang Tri.

The opening night will feature a music stage that combines multidimensional space, creating a multi-touch art program in a performance space, with the highlight being the performance of a large number of drones. The opening program will end with an artistic fireworks display.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Tri province, the Festival for Peace includes a series of cultural, artistic, musical, entertainment, sports and culinary activities. In particular, the Cycling for Peace Festival takes place from June 29-30, at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Historical Site to the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel. This is the first activity in the Festival, with a bicycle parade and a number of short races combined with visits and gift giving to localities with difficult circumstances, and environmental protection activities.

Next, the Cultural - Culinary Festival "Taste of the sunny flower land" took place from July 12 - 14, at Cua Viet Service - Tourism Area, Gio Linh district, with a scale of 100 booths, gathering typical dishes for the culinary culture of the 3 regions of Vietnam and internationally.

The Music Exchange Program "Melody of Peace" - Trinh Cong Son's music night will take place at Fidel Park in Dong Ha city at 8:00 p.m. on July 13, with the participation of many famous singers and artists such as Cam Van, Hong Nhung, Duc Tuan, Quang Dung, Tan Son, Tran Manh Tuan, An Tran, Kyo York, Jmi ko...

The political art program organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with Quang Tri province with the theme "Parallel 17 - Aspiration for Peace" will take place at 8:00 p.m. on July 19.

The program "Wish for Peace" takes place at 8:00 p.m. on July 26 at the special national relic Quang Tri Citadel.

Notably, the International Music Exchange program "Melody of Peace" on July 20, at the Quang Tri Province Cultural - Cinema Center, will have the participation of artists from the following countries: Korea, Japan, the United States, China, France, Australia, Cuba, the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

This is a unique concert program, bringing to the audience a musical experience that conveys the power of love, connecting people with people, is the highlight activity of the Festival, and is also the first large-scale international music exchange program in Quang Tri.

The program will end with a collective dance performance "Dance of Peace" with the participation of all artists from countries, guest delegates, and tourists participating in the program, creating cohesion and harmony in a common aspiration for sustainable peace.
