AI Studio is built on Llama 3.1, the largest open-source AI model released by Meta last week. According to Reuters, Llama 3.1 has performance that is competitive with OpenAI's paid models.

This tool gives users endless creative possibilities. They can use many commands to create AI chatbots with the purpose of teaching cooking lessons, writing content on Instagram, creating funny memes for friends...

“You can set this AI up for yourself, share it with your followers, or even use it to chat with anyone on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and the web,” Meta describes on its blog.

To start creating a chatbot, users can go to ai.meta.com/ai-studio or open a new message on Instagram, then tap “create AI chat.” From there, they can customize the AI character’s name, personality, tone of voice, avatar, and motto.

Content creators and business owners on Meta's platforms can use AI to chat with followers, automatically respond to questions, and even comment directly on posts.

The Verge sees this as a big step for Meta users. However, the company is taking a safe approach, starting with celebrities and then testing it in a few markets before expanding globally.

"Meta is more or less aware that this is a risky playground. They have been careful to label AI-generated content. In their user guide, the company also notes that the responsibility for creating an AI chatbot lies with the user," the tech site commented.
