People "flock" to see their hometown change, causing the VNeID application to "hang"

Until 4 p.m. on June 30, when accessing the national electronic identification application (VNeID) to see if their hometown had changed before the two-level local government model took effect, many people could not access it because the system was "overloaded".

On June 30, from the morning, when provinces and cities across the country held ceremonies to announce the resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on the arrangement of provincial and communal administrative units, many people accessed the VNeID application to check their hometowns, as a result of anticipation and curiosity...

When opening the VNeID application, the user's citizen identification card remains the same. However, items such as: place of birth registration, permanent residence, current residence have been changed to the new address, including commune/ward and province/city.

Currently, the VNeID application is temporarily interrupted, and you cannot log in normally.

Mr. Van Quang (living in Hoa Binh City) shared that at noon of the same day, when his friends checked his permanent residence, birth certificate..., the application information showed that there had been a change, especially the permanent residence area was recorded as "Phu Tho".

Meanwhile, in the afternoon of the same day, many people were also curious to see how their place of residence had changed. However, despite their efforts, the system was inaccessible due to a network "problem".

On some social networking groups, taking advantage of the interrupted access, information is posted to support access. However, this has many potential risks, and personal information can be stolen.

Previously, in Lao Cai province, the provincial police announced a temporary suspension of receiving and processing applications for electronic identification and identification; temporarily suspending a number of functions on the VNeID application, including: electronic identification, residence information, judicial records, public services on residence and related functions during the administrative boundary conversion period.

Hanoi City Police also announced a temporary suspension of receiving applications for ID cards and electronic identification and a temporary suspension of some functions on the VNeID application from June 27 to June 30. Some other local police also temporarily suspended receiving applications for ID cards and electronic identification and a temporary suspension of some functions on VNeID during the administrative boundary conversion period.

On the same afternoon, a representative of the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (Ministry of Public Security) said that when there is new information about the functions on the VNeID application, this unit will provide it.
