Da Nang Education Department guides school transfer and student admission

According to the guidance of the Department of Education and Training (DET), the principle of school transfer must be correct for the subject, ensuring the facilities and teaching quality of the schools, and the school transfer records must be complete according to the regulations in the guiding documents of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The subjects of school transfer are students who change residence with their parents or guardians; students with especially difficult family circumstances or have truly legitimate reasons for having to transfer schools.

The City Department of Education and Training provides specific instructions on school transfer procedures for all levels of education; including school transfers within the same commune, ward, or special zone; between communes, wards, or special zones within the city; and school transfers to or from other provinces or cities.

School transfers are made at the end of the first semester of the school year (from January 15 to January 30 every year) or during the summer vacation (starting from July 15) until before the start of the new school year (ending before August 20 every year).

Particularly for newly admitted 10th grade students or students studying in the city or transferring from other provinces and cities, transfer will only be considered and resolved at the end of the school year. Special cases regarding the time of transfer will be considered and decided by the Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, ward, or special zone (for junior high school students) or the Director of the Department of Education and Training (for high school students) of the destination.

The city's Department of Education and Training also provides guidance on organizing the study of elective subjects for high school students after transferring to a new school and guidance on re-enrollment.
