Nestlé and PRO Vietnam promote occupational safety and hygiene in waste management

With the aim of raising awareness and practice of occupational safety and hygiene, Nestlé Vietnam cooperated with the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam) to organize a training program on occupational safety and hygiene in waste collection and recycling activities for partner units.

This event is part of Nestlé’s efforts to build a sustainable and responsible supply chain, in line with the company’s commitment to promoting the long-term development of people-centered communities. The program also affirms Nestlé’s pioneering role in working closely with partners to build a waste-free future. Within the framework of the program, experts in the field of occupational safety and health shared important fundamental knowledge to build a safe, efficient and healthy working environment for workers at waste collection and recycling units, thereby helping to improve work quality, reduce the risk of occupational accidents and improve working conditions for staff in the waste management industry. In addition to the technical content, the program also provides participants with the latest updates from relevant legal regulations as well as international requirements aimed at assessing corporate responsibility for environmental compliance and workers' rights in the supply chain. Thereby, helping companies and organizations operating in the field of waste management better understand their roles and responsibilities in building a safe, compliant, and responsible working environment and culture.

Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Director of External Affairs and Communications of Nestlé Vietnam shared: "Through this program, we hope to equip essential knowledge about safety for workers, as well as raise awareness of hazards for collection and recycling units, contributing to protecting the rights, as well as ensuring working conditions of workers when participating in waste collection and recycling activities. This is one of our top priorities in our efforts to build a green future". Representing the participating businesses at the training session, Mr. Quach Ngoc Duong, Director of Operations of Vikohashan Company, said that this event is not only a valuable opportunity for businesses in the industry to meet and share experiences on labor safety, but also plays an important role in improving the operating standards of the recycling industry in Vietnam. According to Mr. Quach Ngoc Duong, the close cooperation between Nestlé Vietnam and PRO Vietnam will bring positive and long-term values, support businesses to improve their competitiveness, and contribute to the implementation of sustainable development commitments. Therefore, businesses have high expectations for similar programs in the future, aiming to bring sustainable values ​​to businesses and the community, and together move towards a greener and more comprehensive circular economy.
