According to Xinhua News Agency, on April 5 and 6, Chinese Vice Premier He Lap Phong had discussions with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen in Guangzhou.
The two sides had frank, practical and constructive exchanges on the macroeconomic situation of each country and the world, bilateral economic relations as well as on global challenges. Issues such as balanced growth between the US, China and the global economy, financial stability, sustainable finance and anti-money laundering cooperation within the framework of the US-China economic and financial working group, in addition to continuing to maintain communication channels were also mentioned.
The US Treasury Department said in a statement that these exchanges will facilitate discussions on macroeconomic imbalances and intend to use this as an opportunity to promote a fair “playing field” for American workers and companies.
