On June 20, US President Joe Biden said that US Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry may soon visit China.

Earlier, during talks in Beijing, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to continue strengthening bilateral diplomatic relations and emphasized the possibility of organizing more high-level visits from the US to China in the future.

At the same time, they agreed to stabilize US-China competition to minimize the risk of conflict between the two powers. However, there were almost no significant breakthroughs during the US Secretary of State's rare visit to China.

A day later, during his visit to South Korea, US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink informed Seoul about the results of Mr. Blinken's visit to Beijing.

During the visit, Mr. Kritenbrink met with South Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choi Young Sam and is scheduled to meet with First Vice Foreign Minister Chang Ho-jin later on June 21. According to the plan, US officials will discuss the results of Mr. Blinken's visit to China and discuss ways to further strengthen the partnership between Seoul and Washington.

On June 20, Mr. Kritenbrink also discussed with Japanese leaders in Tokyo about the meeting between the US Secretary of State and the Chinese President.
