In 2020, Muong Hoa commune was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Hau Thao commune and Su Pan commune according to Resolution No. 896/NQ-UBTVQH14 dated February 11, 2020 of the National Assembly Standing Committee. Muong Hoa commune has 8 villages and hamlets with 1,114 households, of which the Mong ethnic group accounts for more than 95%.

In recent years, with the attention and investment of the State, the participation of the entire grassroots political system, the solidarity and consensus of the people, the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction in Muong Hoa commune has achieved many successes. Infrastructure has been upgraded synchronously and comprehensively, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved.

Up to now, Muong Hoa commune has completed 19/19 criteria for new rural construction. The average income of people reached 42.16 million VND; the whole commune still has 138 poor households (equivalent to 12% of the total number of households). The inter-commune roads and roads connecting to the town center are completely asphalted and concreted; 80% of inter-village roads are hardened; 70% of schools in the area meet level 1 standards in terms of facilities; over 95% of households have access to the national grid;...

At the ceremony, the decision was announced and the Certificate of Recognition of the commune meeting the new rural standards in 2023 was awarded by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the Party Committee, government and people of Muong Hoa commune. This is also the first commune in the province to meet the new rural standards for the period 2021 - 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee congratulated and commended the achievements and results of the Party Committee, government and people of Muong Hoa commune in the past time.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong suggested that Muong Hoa commune in the coming time should uphold the sense of responsibility and strengthen the leadership of the Party Committee and the government, considering this a key, continuous, long-term task for the development of the economy - culture - society in rural areas. Mobilize the strength of the entire political system and the entire people to develop a plan to maintain, sustain and improve the achieved new rural criteria, striving to complete the new advanced rural commune by 2025. Focus on leading, directing, and effectively implementing economic restructuring, developing agricultural and forestry production, associated with sustainable new rural construction, on the basis of promoting cooperation, association, applying scientific and technological advances, linking production with the market; further improving the cultural and social fields, especially improving people's knowledge, vocational training, job creation, and human resource development.

Regarding Sa Pa town, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong requested the Party Committee and the town's government to closely follow and effectively implement the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the national target program on new rural construction in Lao Cai province by 2025; strive to have at least 6 communes maintained and recognized as meeting new rural standards by the end of 2025, including 2 advanced new rural communes and 1 model new rural commune. Continue to improve the quality of propaganda and mobilization work, create consensus among people to actively participate in new rural construction; effectively mobilize and use resources; arrange and integrate investment programs and projects in the communes; pay attention to investing in production development, supporting livelihoods to improve people's lives...

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in building Muong Hoa commune to meet new rural standards in 2023; the Chairman of Sa Pa Town People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in building the commune to meet new rural standards in 2023. The Steering Committee for National Target Programs of Muong Hoa commune launched a movement to maintain the recognition title of "Commune meeting new rural standards".

* Launching a competition to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Sa Pa town by 2025

Pursuant to Resolution No. 50-NQ/TU dated July 3, 2024 of the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee on supporting the construction of houses for households with revolutionary contributions, martyrs' relatives; poor households, near-poor households in Lao Cai province by 2025 and Plan No. 318/KH-UBND dated July 8, 2024 of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee on implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Lao Cai province by 2025", Sa Pa town launched the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the town by 2025.

Launching the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the town from now until 2025, Mr. Cao Ba Quy, Vice Chairman of Sa Pa Town People's Committee emphasized that this is an important event with profound humanistic significance, demonstrating the concern of the Party Committee, authorities at all levels and the business community, entrepreneurs and the entire population to care for people with meritorious services and the poor, contributing to the good implementation of social security.
