Long An starts construction of 69 houses in Border Residential Area

On June 19, in Tan Hiep commune, Thanh Hoa district, Long An Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Military Region 7 Command to organize the groundbreaking ceremony to build and thicken 69 houses in 9 border residential areas.

This is a practical activity in the 7th year of implementing the Project "Building Residential Areas Adjacent to Border Militia Posts" in the 2019-2025 period, aiming to gradually perfect the national defense posture associated with socio -economic development in border areas.

According to the plan, in this phase, Long An province will build 9 border residential areas with a total of 69 houses. Specifically, Thanh Hoa district has 2 areas with 26 houses; Duc Hue district has 4 areas with 25 houses; Vinh Hung district has 3 areas with 18 houses. Each house will be supported with 100 million VND from the budget of Military Region 7, with a total value of nearly 7 billion VND.

The apartments are built in the model of a level 4 house, with corrugated iron roofs and brick walls, with an area of 80-100m², including a living room, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. In addition, households are also supported with infrastructure connections for electricity, water and transportation, creating conditions for long-term living and production.

Beneficiaries are households that voluntarily settle in the border areas, regular militia officers, reserve soldiers and armed forces who have sufficient conditions to stabilize their lives. The People's Committees of the districts have proactively coordinated with the Provincial Military Command, departments, branches and border commune authorities in surveying, planning, and preparing the site, ensuring the progress of implementation according to plan.

At the ceremony, Colonel Pham Van Quoc - Deputy Political Commissar of the Long An Provincial Military Command, requested households and local Party committees and authorities to actively build strong political bases in residential areas, exemplary in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and strictly comply with border regulations; actively work, produce, and develop family economy; join the militia and border guards to firmly protect the border, landmarks, and national territorial sovereignty./.
