IN FORM, the women's team is very confident

The Vietnamese women's team won all the matches in the group stage, scoring 14 goals and being the only team in the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship (AFF Cup 2025) to keep a clean sheet. Young midfielder Hai Linh quickly replaced Duong Thi Van (injured) when escaping the pressure and smoothly deployed the ball up front. The Vietnamese women's team is maintaining a very good vertical axis with goalkeeper Kim Thanh, central defender Chuong Thi Kieu, the midfield has Hai Linh and Thai Thi Thao, the attack line has Bich Thuy, Huynh Nhu, Hai Yen playing stably. The factors Nguyen Thi Van, Van Su, Tran Thi Duyen, Thu Thao... are all playing as required, showing cohesion. Thai Thi Thao confidently controlled the ball past the Thai player, really creating great confidence.

The 2008 Vietnam Golden Ball, former player Do Thi Ngoc Cham commented: "Ignoring the first two matches where the opponent was too weak, I am very satisfied with the way the Vietnam women's team confidently played against Thailand. In particular, many young players such as Hai Linh, Thai Thi Thao, Tran Thi Duyen... played very well, controlling the ball well. Bich Thuy, who plays the highest, is in good form: strong, moving widely, and putting good pressure. Tran Thi Duyen, who replaced Hoang Thi Loan on the left wing, is very enthusiastic, playing more and more confidently... Overall, the Vietnam women's team is gradually getting into "form", individuals in all positions are in good form".

FOCUS ON PROMOTING YOUR STRENGTHS

On the attack line, the Vietnamese women's team is quite effective when coach Mai Duc Chung alternates using Huynh Nhu and Hai Yen with Bich Thuy playing high up. Hai Yen has 3 goals - only 1 goal less than Win Theinghi Tun (Myanmar) and Janista Jinantuya (Thailand), while Van Su and Thu Thao each have 2 goals. The Vietnamese women's team is superior to their opponents with 10 names scoring after 3 matches. In the 1-0 win over Thailand, although not directly scoring, Huynh Nhu still spoke up with a classy pass and assist for Thu Thao to score. Former player Do Thi Ngoc Cham commented: "Huynh Nhu has not scored yet but is making a great contribution. In the role of a midfielder playing behind, Huynh Nhu uses her experience to create passes and pass the ball very well. On the field, in addition to the captain's armband, Huynh Nhu is the oldest person on the team who has urged and encouraged the players. Thanks to that, the young players have integrated very quickly and are more confident.

The Vietnamese women's team aims to reach the final. Our biggest requirement right now is to focus on promoting our strengths and skillfully implementing the playing style set out by coach Mai Duc Chung. The team needs to overcome limitations in finishing and take advantage of opportunities better. It must be acknowledged that coach Mai Duc Chung is doing a very good job of the team's ideology and spirit. Playing football at Lach Tray Stadium with 25,000 spectators almost filling the stands is a great advantage. It is rare for the Vietnamese women's team to play in such a passionate atmosphere. This creates good motivation for the team to compete regardless of who the opponent is."
