Perspective of social housing project in Phu Hoi industrial park, Lam Dong province.

On April 15, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province announced that the locality decided to establish a Steering Committee for social housing development in the province, headed by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai.

The Steering Committee is responsible for researching and proposing to the Provincial People's Committee solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote the development of social housing in the area, and ensure assigned targets. At the same time, it helps the Provincial People's Committee direct the coordination, management, and supervision in the process of implementing procedures for investment, construction, sale, lease, and use of apartments in social housing projects, promptly preventing and strictly handling violations and policy abuse.

Previously, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee agreed to allocate the social housing target to be completed in the period of 2025-2030 to the People's Committees of Da Lat city, Bao Loc city and Duc Trong district.

Specifically, in 2025, Da Lat city is assigned to build 198 units, Duc Trong district 204 units; the remaining targets are allocated each year, ensuring the target, in the period 2025-2030, the whole Lam Dong province completes the target of building 2,101 social housing units. Of which, Da Lat city has 1,191 units, Bao Loc city has 706 units and Duc Trong district has 204 units.

The social housing project for workers and laborers in Phu Hoi Industrial Park, Duc Trong District, started construction in June 2023.

According to Lam Dong Department of Construction, by March 2025, the province has 13 land fund locations planned for the development of social housing projects in the province, mainly in zoning plans (Da Lat city has 12 locations, Bao Loc city has 1 location). However, only 1 project location has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment policy to implement the next steps.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requests the People's Committees of Da Lat and Bao Loc cities to urgently speed up the progress of establishing, submitting for approval, and adjusting planning levels (urban master planning, zoning planning, detailed planning) for locations planned for social housing development, to ensure conditions as a basis for organizing investment calls, selecting investors to implement projects according to regulations; assess the current status of land use, land recovery capability, favorable conditions; urgently carry out the procedures for proposing investment projects to submit for investment policy approval.
