Lam Dong: Ensuring safety for tourists during storm number 3 (storm Wipha)

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Official Dispatch No. 3550/CD-BVHTTDL dated July 19, 2025 on focusing on responding to storm No. 3 in 2025 and Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatch No. 370/CD-UBND dated July 20, 2025 on responding to storm No. 3 (Storm Wipha).

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 3 (storm Wipha) is having very complicated developments, strong intensity, expected to affect the South Central region, including Lam Dong province.

Therefore, to proactively respond, ensure absolute safety for tourists, and limit damage caused by storms, Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism urgently deployed tourism businesses to closely monitor local weather conditions, proactively update information from authorities, promptly advise, adjust or stop tourism activities when there are adverse weather developments that affect the safety of tourists.

In addition, deploy storm prevention plans, have protection plans, ensure safety of people and property for tourists. Fully equip rescue equipment, increase rescue forces, hang storm warning flags in coastal areas; do not organize service activities at sea, sea sports to ensure absolute safety for tourists until notified by authorities when the storm has passed.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requires localities and tourism businesses to publicly post hotline numbers, arrange staff on duty 24/7 to receive and process information, and promptly support tourists in unusual situations. Strengthen propaganda and guidance for tourists to comply with warnings and recommendations from authorities; do not travel or participate in tourism activities in dangerous and potentially risky areas. Proactively coordinate with local authorities and competent agencies in guiding, moving, and evacuating tourists from dangerous areas when necessary. Continue to strictly implement the instructions of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Official Dispatch No. 39/SVHTTDL-QLDL dated July 11, 2025 on preparing conditions to welcome and serve tourists during the summer tourist season and the rainy and stormy season in 2025.
