Previously, many households in Krong No mainly cultivated commercial corn. However, due to unstable prices and output, economic efficiency was not high.
Faced with this reality, people have switched to the model of growing corn seeds, in which many households have linked up with enterprises to produce and consume products. Thanks to this, the efficiency of corn production of the people has changed significantly.

Over the past few years, Mr. Ho Nam's family in Duc Xuyen commune, Krong No district, has boldly converted 2.2 hectares of commercial corn land to produce corn seeds.
Through cooperation with businesses, he is provided with seeds, technical support and product consumption at a price of 13,000 VND/kg of peeled corn.
This price is 2-3 times higher than commercial corn. Every year, after deducting expenses, his family earns more than 120 million VND from the corn garden.
Mr. Nam shared: "Corn seed production has stable prices and is guided by systematic techniques, so productivity and income are both higher than commercial corn."
Similarly, Mr. Dang Xong's family in Duc Xuyen commune, Krong No district has 2 hectares of land for growing corn seeds. Mr. Xong has 10 years of experience growing corn seeds.

He maintains corn productivity at about 1 ton/sao. He asserts: "Growing seed corn is much more effective, the price is twice as high as regular corn, everyone is excited and believes in this model."
One of the factors that helped the corn seed growing model in Krong No develop strongly is the support of large enterprises such as Vietnam Seed Joint Stock Company; Bioseed Vietnam Company Limited; Syngenta Vietnam Company Limited...
These enterprises not only provide high-quality seeds and technical support, but also advance part of the materials and guarantee the output of products for farmers. This helps people feel secure in investing in production, without worrying about the consumption market or price risks.
Mr. Doan Gia Loc, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Krong No district, said that corn seed production is increasingly expanding in both scale and economic value.
On average, each year, the district produces about 600 - 700 hectares of F1 corn seeds to supply to seed factories across the country.
Producing corn seeds not only creates a stable source of income for people but also contributes to the local high-quality agricultural development strategy.
With the advantage of fertile land, favorable climate, and stable output, the district has many advantages in corn production. Krong No is actively planning to form a large-scale specialized corn seed production area.

Currently, Krong No district has built a key area for concentrated corn seed production of more than 400 hectares in Duc Xuyen commune and continues to expand to Dak Nang and Nam N'dir communes.
According to Mr. Loc, outstanding economic efficiency, along with close links between farmers and businesses, is helping many households in the area increase their income from corn seed production.
Linking corn seed production is creating favorable conditions for people to access professional, commodity-oriented farming processes, increasing income.
According to the plan, in the coming time, Krong No district will continue to expand the specialized corn seed growing area to about 1,000 hectares, attracting more businesses to participate in the chain. The district promotes the application of science and technology in corn seed cultivation.
