Petition to prosecute the company that just had 700 workers stop working to demand 13th month salary and bonus

The Social Insurance of Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province has just sent a document to the Investigation Police Agency of Thieu Hoa district police requesting criminal prosecution against Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company (located in Thieu Hoa town, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province) for the act of evading insurance payment.

According to the petition, Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company is slow to pay social insurance, unemployment insurance (UI), and health insurance (HI), affecting the rights of employees, causing public outrage, and affecting security and order in the area.

In previous years, the authorities and the Social Insurance Agency have repeatedly urged and reminded employees to pay social insurance. However, this company still owes over 13 billion VND.

Specifically, in 2024, the company registered to pay social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance for 799 employees, with the total amount of late payment as of December 31, 2024 being more than 13.6 billion VND and late payment interest being more than 3.6 billion VND.

Previously, from January 21 to January 23, hundreds of workers of Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company stopped working collectively to demand their rights to pay their December salary and 13th month bonus.

According to many workers, the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025 is coming soon, but hundreds of workers of the company still have not received their December salary, 13th month bonus and are late in paying social insurance.

After the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor intervened, the company's leaders decided to pay December 2024 salary and 13th month bonus, so on January 24, workers returned to work as usual.
