Speaking at the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assessed that over the past 30 years, the State Audit has grown stronger and more mature, contributing to building a transparent and sustainable national financial system.

Through its auditing activities, the State Audit has contributed to saving thousands of billions of VND for the state budget, preventing and handling many violations. It has effectively supported the investigation, inspection and examination work of competent agencies, aiming to strengthen financial discipline and order, prevent corruption, negativity and waste, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

In addition, the State Audit Office always closely follows the activities of the National Assembly and the country's socio-economic management and administration; helps the National Assembly have reliable sources of information and data to approve the state budget settlement; decides on the state budget estimates and allocates the annual central budget; helps the supervision activities of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee to be more effective.

In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman requested the State Audit to grasp and properly implement the policies and strategic orientations of the Party, the National Assembly,... select and focus on prioritizing the implementation of key goals of the State Audit Development Strategy to 2030.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man reiterated the direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, requiring the auditing sector "to always firmly grasp, grasp and properly perform its functions, tasks and powers, to 'play its role and know its lesson', to truly understand and strictly implement principles, laws, regulations and rules, especially to be very impartial, objective and transparent; to effectively use and control the power entrusted by the Party, State and people".

In addition, the State Audit Office needs to continue to strengthen and perfect the legal framework, including researching and reviewing the State Audit Law to propose to the National Assembly for timely consideration and amendment.

From 2005 to present, the State Audit Law has been amended and supplemented three times, contributing to perfecting the legal framework for the organization and operation of the State Audit.

Of the 40 cases with signs of violations transferred by the State Audit to investigation agencies at all levels, 35 cases have been resolved; of which 14 cases have been prosecuted, and 21 cases are awaiting verification and appraisal.
