On March 10, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that through expanding the investigation into the "Major Vehicle Inspection Case", the unit has prosecuted a total of 318 defendants to investigate violations and negative acts in the field of vehicle inspection.
From February 29 to March 5, Ho Chi Minh City Police issued decisions to prosecute and arrest 63 defendants at 10 motor vehicle inspection centers and enterprises that construct and renovate motor vehicles in many provinces and cities to continue investigating and clarifying the acts of "Receiving bribes", "Giving bribes", "Brokering bribes", "Forging documents of agencies and organizations; using fake documents of agencies and organizations".
The above orders and decisions have been approved and executed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy.
To date, Ho Chi Minh City Police have prosecuted a total of 318 defendants related to violations in the field of vehicle registration.
At the same time, the authorities have gradually clarified the systematic negative violations, organized throughout from some leaders of the Vietnam Register, the Department of Motor Vehicle Inspection to the directors of many registration centers, causing especially serious consequences for society.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Police promptly reported to the Ministry of Public Security to propose specialized State management agencies to implement a series of solutions to improve the effectiveness of State management of motor vehicle inspection activities, typically: Exemption from first-time motor vehicle inspection, spacing of inspection cycles, decentralization of authority associated with inspection, strict control of inspection activities for localities... contributing to gradually tighter management of motor vehicle inspection activities.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
