The memorial area for teachers and students who died at the construction site of the Nam Ma River dike on June 14, 1972 has a total area of ​​about 2.05 hectares, including 2 main areas. The area inside the dike has an area of ​​11,230 ^m2 , including the following items: Memorial house for teachers and students, reception house, female student memorial area (lotus pond, ceremony yard, female student shrine, trees...), historical reenactment area, memorial tree planting area, and external traffic.

The area outside the dike has an area of ​​9,270 ^m2 , including the following items: A monument sculpted from natural granite, depicting 7 characters with different postures of teachers and students in the process of building the dike during the US air raid on June 14, 1972 and images recreating the Nam Ngan army and people working together to fight and treat wounded soldiers; The female student monument area, the boat dock for releasing flower lanterns, the shrine, the stele marking historical events, the area recreating the space of the traditional Nam Ngan village...

With respect and gratitude to the teachers and students of the Medical School, the 7+3 Pedagogical School and Thanh Hoa laborers who participated in the dike construction and heroically sacrificed their lives at the age of twenty in the heroic land of Thanh Hoa, the memorial project at the Nam Ma River dike is a tribute from the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Hoa City to the heroic sacrifice of the heroic martyrs for the cause of protecting the Fatherland.
