In early April 2025, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative, Hop Chau town (Tam Dao) was honored to be one of 100 typical cooperatives nationwide to receive the Cooperative Star Award 2025 (CoopStar Awards 2025) presented by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance.
The award not only recognizes and honors cooperatives and cooperative unions with outstanding achievements in production and business activities, but also creates a strong ripple effect, encouraging the spirit of creativity, daring to think and dare to do of the collective economic sector in the context of the country entering a new era of development.
Established and put into operation in 2009, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative not only cultivates and processes edible mushrooms, medicinal mushrooms, and cordyceps mushrooms, but also cooperates in production and develops mulberry material areas in neighboring provinces such as Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai to transfer mulberry growing, silk reeling, silk weaving, and silk cocoon consumption techniques to farmers.
Currently, the Cooperative has 3 branches including Tam Dao Mulberry Mushroom Cooperative Chiem Hoa (Tuyen Quang), Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative Bao Yen Mulberry Branch (Lao Cai) and Tam Dao Mulberry Mushroom Cooperative Van Yen (Yen Bai).
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative, said: The 2025 Cooperative Star Award is like a "lever" to help the Cooperative strive and try to further promote the process of integration and development in the digital age, while affirming the role, position and brand of the unit in the market.
With the goal of sustainable development, the Cooperative always strictly complies with the provisions of the law, fulfills tax obligations, creates jobs and stable income for many workers in the area. Currently, the Cooperative has 10 products certified as 3-star OCOP products at the provincial level or higher, 2 products certified as typical rural industrial products of the province. In 2024, the Cooperative produced and supplied the market with 80kg of freeze-dried cordyceps products, with revenue reaching nearly 2 billion VND.
Along with that, the Cooperative always focuses on social security work, regularly visits and supports people in difficulty in the area and outside the province. Support seedlings and strawberry seeds to help people restore production.

Implementing Resolution No. 20 of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the collective economy in the new period, the province focuses on implementing mechanisms and policies to support and encourage the collective economic sector to promote the application of science and technology, strengthen connections and promote the development of the collective economy. At the same time, it organizes units to participate in investment promotion programs and exhibitions to introduce and promote products to the market.
In 2023, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 04 on a number of policies to support collective economic development in the area. It focuses on supporting capacity building and awareness; investing in infrastructure and product processing... with a total budget for implementing policies to support collective economic development in the province by the end of 2025 of nearly 60 billion VND.
Thanks to that, the number of cooperatives operating well is increasing, including some leading cooperatives such as Nhan Ly Agricultural Service Cooperative; Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative; Tuoi Tre Construction Materials Cooperative; Dai Lai Agricultural Cooperative; Visa Safe Vegetable Cooperative...
In 2024, the average revenue of a cooperative will reach more than 1.6 billion VND, with an average profit of about 258 million VND. The above figures confirm that the collective economic sector with the core being cooperatives has had positive changes, from changing awareness, thinking to practical actions and increasingly developing in scale, quantity, and diversifying in industries and products, contributing to ensuring social security in the area.
In the economic context with many intertwined opportunities and challenges, to more clearly affirm the role and position of the collective economic sector in the economy, actively contributing to the socio-economic development in the area, the province continues to create all conditions for the collective economy to develop.
At the same time, strengthen the propaganda work to develop cooperatives, help founding groups who need to establish cooperatives, units to re-register, reorganize, and units to change business registration.
Speaking at the ceremony to honor typical cooperatives and present the "Coop Star Awards 2025" in early April 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, and local authorities at all levels to grasp the reality, advise, perfect mechanisms and policies, allocate synchronous resources, promote the collective economic sector and cooperatives to develop to their full potential in the new era...
