The impressive achievement helped the Vietnamese delegation far exceed the target of the number of gold medals set, thereby winning the 3rd place overall in the medal tally of the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

The Vietnamese Paralympic Sports Delegation has officially concluded the 12th Southeast Asian Para Games (ASEAN Para Games 12) successfully with a total of 201 medals, including 66 gold medals, 58 silver medals and 77 bronze medals.
The 66 gold medals won by the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation came from swimming, athletics, weightlifting and chess.
The Vietnamese swimming team "exploded" to win 28 gold medals, including the impressive achievements of Danh Hoa (6 gold medals) and Trinh Thi Bich Nhu (5 gold medals).
The Vietnamese athletes of the disabled athletics team also excellently completed their mission at the 12th ASEAN Para Games by winning 20 gold medals.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese weightlifting team also won 10 gold medals at the 12th Southeast Asian Para Games.
The remaining 8 gold medals that the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation won came from the chess team.
The Indonesian Paralympic delegation won 159 gold medals, 148 silver medals and 94 bronze medals, topping the overall medal tally.
The Thai Paralympic delegation finished second overall with 126 gold medals, 110 silver medals and 92 bronze medals.
The Malaysian Paralympic delegation finished in fourth place with 50 gold medals, 38 silver medals and 35 bronze medals.
The Philippine Paralympic delegation ranked fifth with 33 gold medals, 33 silver medals and 50 bronze medals; followed by Myanmar (15 gold medals, 23 silver medals and 29 bronze medals), Singapore (12, 15, 17), Cambodia (9, 18, 43), Brunei (3, 3, 2), Timor Lester (2, 0, 5) and Laos (0, 2, 9).
