Although they are localities located far from the center of Ba Vi district and had many difficulties when starting to build new rural areas, Son Da commune and Van Thang commune both completed the construction of advanced new rural areas in 2022; in 2023, Phong Van commune was also recognized as meeting the standards.

Identifying that building a new rural area is a journey with a starting point but no ending point, 3 communes have embarked on building a model new rural area with a determined and proactive spirit. From 2021 to now, hundreds of billions of VND have been mobilized by localities to complete the advanced criteria according to the set of criteria for advanced new rural communes in the period 2021 - 2025.

Up to now, the new rural appearance of the three communes: Son Da, Phong Van and Van Thang continues to record many positive and comprehensive changes. The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved and enhanced. The average income per capita of the three communes in the most recent statistical period has reached over 70 million VND/year, 10% higher than the average of the advanced new rural communes. The poverty rate has decreased gradually over the years; many villages no longer have poor households.

Political security and social order and safety are maintained. Local people are satisfied with the results of new rural construction. The process of new rural construction in localities has not recorded any outstanding debts in basic construction. 3/3 villages have smart village models...

On November 6, the Hanoi New Rural Area Assessment Team inspected and evaluated the results of building model new rural areas in 3 communes: Son Da, Phong Van and Van Thang. The members of the team, representing many departments and branches of Hanoi, highly appreciated the results achieved in building model new rural areas in the 3 localities.

Based on a comprehensive and objective review of the records and actual results, the members of the Hanoi New Rural Area Assessment Team agreed that the three communes: Son Da, Phong Van and Van Thang, are all qualified to submit to the competent authority for consideration and recognition of meeting the model new rural area standards in the fields of Education and Training. Phong Van commune alone also meets the model standards in the field of health.

At the appraisal session on November 6, Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of Office in charge of the Hanoi New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of building model new rural areas of the three communes: Son Da, Phong Van and Van Thang. At the same time, he requested Ba Vi district to direct departments and offices to closely coordinate with the three communes to promptly complete the dossiers and supporting documents, and send them to the Appraisal Council for consideration and recognition of meeting the standards of model new rural areas in 2024.

Mr. Ngo Van Ngon also emphasized that building a new rural area is a journey that has a starting point but no ending point. Therefore, the Party Committee, government and people of the three communes are not satisfied with the results achieved. Continue to pay attention to investing and doing a good job of information and propaganda to mobilize the participation of the entire political system, striving to bring the three communes to complete the construction of a comprehensive model new rural area.
