Bright heart for the community

Established in mid-2017, the Badminton Club of Dien Phuoc Commune (Dien Ban) has become a sports meeting place for about 90 students from 6 to 18 years old to practice regularly.

Joining the Dien Phuoc Commune Badminton Club, the “athletes” do not have to spend money on clothes, shoes, rackets or training or competition expenses… All are taken care of by Mr. Tran The Thai (a retired cadre, founder of the Club).

From a locality with few students who know how to play badminton, after 7 years of operation, the achievements of Dien Phuoc Commune Badminton Club are quite impressive when contributing many athletes to the town.

At the Quang Nam Provincial Student Sports Tournament for the 2023-2024 school year, 9 athletes of the Club were selected by the Department of Education and Training to join the team to participate in the National Phu Dong Sports Festival in Region 3 and the National Phu Dong Sports Festival in the coming time.

Mr. Tran The Thai (Nhi Dinh 3 village, Dien Phuoc commune) shared that because he used to work in the province's sports industry, he understands the benefits of exercising.

After retiring, knowing that many students really liked playing badminton but did not have the means, he decided to open a class, using part of his pension to buy supporting equipment, helping the children to both play and practice, contributing to improving their health.

Studying and following Uncle Ho, in recent years in Dien Ban town, many typical examples have appeared, always humble and responsible for their work.

For teacher Nguyen Van Lai and his wife (Triem Dong 1 block, Dien Phuong ward), voluntarily opening a free extra class for nearly 80 primary and secondary school students in the ward is simply a wish to help many students with difficult circumstances keep up with the school program, so that no student has to lose knowledge, especially so that later all will become good citizens, useful to society.

In early January 2023, teacher Nguyen Van Lai retired after 40 years of teaching Literature at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School (Dien Minh ward, Dien Ban).

Realizing that some students in the village were still weak in their studies, Mr. Lai immediately thought of opening a free tutoring class to help poor students catch up with their knowledge at school. However, due to many reasons, it was not until September 2023, when Mr. Lai's wife, teacher Vo Thi Yen, retired after 36 years of teaching, that the couple was able to realize their intention.

Learn from Uncle Ho from the most ordinary things

Mr. Nguyen Van Lai and Mr. Tran The Thai are typical examples in the movement of studying and following Uncle Ho in Dien Ban. There are many individuals and groups who still work silently every day, contributing to the community and society.

At the recent conference to review 3 years of implementing Conclusion 01 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05 of the Politburo "On promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", 17 collectives and 20 individuals were commended by the Dien Ban City Party Committee for their outstanding achievements in their duties and work.

With the viewpoint of "staying awake so that people can sleep well, staying awake so that people can have fun, taking people's happiness as their joy and reason for living", at the end of May 2022, Special Task Force 171 of Dien Ban Town Police was established, becoming a reliable support for all classes of people.

From 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next morning, the police officers of the team took turns patrolling, promptly preventing and ensuring security and order in the area.

After nearly 2 years of establishment, Task Force 171 has detected and prosecuted 8 cases with 14 violators, transferred 76 cases with 168 violators and 2 business establishments to competent administrative handling units, and many other violations, becoming a recognized and replicated model throughout the province.

It can be affirmed that learning from Uncle Ho is not about slogans or showing off but is expressed in practical actions, closely connected with the life of the community.

In fact, in recent times, studying and following Uncle Ho in Dien Ban town has seen many factors with many good and meaningful values.

There are many stories of people silently doing good deeds every day in their lives, contributing to the community and society like fragrant lotus flowers in everyday life. And it seems that everyone believes that, with a pure heart and determination, one can learn and follow Uncle Ho, from the simplest things in life.
