According to the 2024-2025 school year plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the first semester will end before January 18; the program will be completed and the school year will end before May 31; the primary school program will be recognized and the junior high school graduation will be recognized before May 30; and the enrollment of the first grade will be completed before July 31. The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 26-27. Other national exams will be organized according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that the school year schedule of localities must ensure 35 weeks of actual study (18 weeks for semester I and 17 weeks for semester II). The school year schedule must be suitable to the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality.

Holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and annual guidelines. Teachers' annual leave is taken during the summer vacation or can be arranged alternately at other times of the year to suit the specific characteristics and school year schedule of the locality. Depending on the end of the first semester, students in some localities may have summer vacation 1 week earlier. According to Hanoi regulations, the end of the school year is May 30.
