According to the previous announcement of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Home Affairs), on the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers are given one day off and receive full salary according to their labor contracts on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month.

This year, Hung King’s Commemoration Day falls on Monday (April 7), the first working day of the week. Therefore, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers who work on Saturday and Sunday will have 3 consecutive days off, from April 5 to April 7.

On the occasion of April 30 - May 1, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 5 consecutive days off, from Wednesday (April 30) to Sunday (May 4). To have this continuous holiday, workers will make up for it on Saturday, April 26.

For students, the holiday schedule usually follows the school year schedule issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. Students get 1 day off for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (April 7) and 5 consecutive days off for the April 30-May 1 holidays (April 30-May 4).

According to the 2024-2025 school year schedule issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, schools will finish semester 1 before January 18, 2025, complete the program and end the school year before May 31, 2025.

Consider recognition of completion of primary school program and consider recognition of graduation from secondary school before June 30, 2025.

Complete enrollment for first grade classes before July 31, 2025.

The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 26 and 27, 2025.

The local school year schedule must ensure 35 weeks of actual study (18 weeks for semester 1 and 17 weeks for semester 2). The school year schedule must be suitable to the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality.

Holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and annual guidelines. Teachers' annual leave is implemented during the summer vacation or can be arranged alternately at other times of the year to suit the specific characteristics and school year schedule of the locality. The school year schedule needs to ensure consistency for all levels of education in a residential area, especially in general schools with many levels of education.
