Singer Hoa Minzy has just released the MV Pain in the Middle of Peace – the soundtrack of the movie Red Rain, and is the singer's tribute to heroic Vietnamese Mothers.
After 18 hours of release, the MV attracted more than 770,000 viewers, and this number continues to increase. The MV also touched the hearts of the audience with its touching story about silent sacrifice and the pain of loss in war.
MV "Pain in the middle of peace" by Hoa Minzy is touching with its story of gratitude to heroic Vietnamese mothers.
The MV was directed by Nhu Dang, set at Truong Son Cemetery (Quang Tri) and Duong Lam ancient village ( Hanoi ). Many scenes in the film Red Rain were interwoven, recreating the fierceness of war.
In the MV, People's Artist Nhu Quynh plays the mother, Hoa Minzy transforms into a pregnant wife, sending her husband off to war. Years passed, when the child was just 3 years old, the family went to the village to welcome him back - but only received news of his death.
During filming, Hoa Minzy cried many times because she was so absorbed in it: "I listened to the song every night, sometimes I couldn't sleep until 3-4am, every time I listened I couldn't hold back my tears... I can say this is the product I cried the most in my career."
Composer Nguyen Van Chung - the author of the song said that he spent many days researching and watching movies to nurture his emotions before writing. "Not being born in the war, at first I was worried that I wouldn't be able to write truthfully. But when I saw the movies and heard the mothers' stories, I felt I had to write," he shared.
The song title Pain in Peace was kept, although many people feared it was a bit “heavy”. “ Peace does not come naturally, it is the exchange of blood and tears. If we only praise joy and forget the pain, we will feel guilty”, said Nguyen Van Chung.

Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Can burst into tears and hugged Hoa Minzy.
The MV launch event had a special appearance by Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Can (100 years old, from Bac Ninh ). When asked by Hoa Minzy about her feelings after watching, she burst into tears, hugged the female singer tightly and choked up: "There is no pain like losing a child. I miss you, I still miss you so much, my heart breaks for you, I don't even remember you."
That moment made the whole audience silent, many viewers could not hold back their tears. Sharing more, Hoa Minzy said that the idea of making the MV originated from the true story of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Dao Thi Vui - whose husband and only son both sacrificed themselves. That pain urged her to create a work "with enough heart and worth" to show gratitude.
Not following the entire plot of Red Rain, Hoa Minzy chose a separate section – the story of the home front. The female singer also took inspiration from her own mother, who was pregnant but still worked in the fields until the last day, to portray the image of a resilient woman who silently sacrificed.
In the studio, Hoa Minzy burst into tears many times, at one point she had to collapse and cover her face, leaving the entire crew speechless. Musician Nguyen Van Chung said: “ Hoa’s sincere emotions made the work more powerful. Not only me, but the whole crew shed tears.”
At the end of the launch, Hoa Minzy choked up and shared: “ Today, my grandfather should be sitting here proudly, witnessing this joy. Normally, he would smile gently and encourage me, saying, 'Our hometown people are very proud, everyone praises me, my child.' But in this special moment, he could no longer say a word…”.
Immediately after the show, the singer returned to her hometown to mourn her grandfather. For Hoa Minzy, this product is an “emotional knot” in her artistic journey, because it encapsulates both patriotism and family love.
