The 18th Dedication Awards Ceremony took place at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of March 27.

The Dedication Music Award was initiated by the Sports and Culture newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) in 2005.

From 2023, the award will change its name to the Dedication Award; and at the same time expand into two award systems: the Dedication Sports Award and the Dedication Music Award.

Dedication 2024: Do Bao... the oldest

In his opening speech, Mr. Le Xuan Thanh - editor-in-chief of Sports and Culture newspaper, head of the organizing committee - said: "The Devotion Music Award is an event to honor outstanding artists, authors, and programs of popular music in the past year".

At the same time, this is also "a demonstration of the power of Vietnamese popular music today".

Indeed, in previous Dedication seasons, it was easy to see the continuity between generations. This year, when looking at the nomination list, more than 90% are young people, of which more than half are Gen Z.

Some of the names that can be mentioned are: Phuong My Chi, Double2T, Wren Evans, Phao, tlinh, Hoa Minzy, Orange, Tang Duy Tan, HIEUTHUHAI, DTAP, Hua Kim Tuyen...

The final results were not too surprising when the young artists shared the important awards.

Musician Do Bao (born in 1977) is the "oldest" artist to be named at the award ceremony ( Program of the Year category, thanks to the live show Do Bao & Friends ).

Den Vau (1989) seems young but compared to the rest of Gen Z, he is also a bit... old.

Hoa Minzy thanks her son, Den Vau admits he is weird

Surpassing Trung Quan, Tang Duy Tan, HIEUTHUHAI and Wren Evans, Den Vau took home one of the most important trophies of the award: Male Singer of the Year .

Den and his crew also won the Music Video of the Year award with the MV Cooking for You (composed by Den, performed by Den ft. PiaLinh; directed by Phuong Vu).

Last year, Den Vau received a series of meaningful awards and honors. However, when his name was called at Cong Hien 2024, he was still "surprised".

"I always thought rap music was underground and not accepted.

Den is grateful for the audience's affection, the openness and tolerance of the professional council, and the audience, allowing a young artist like Den to make music that may be a bit strange but has the opportunity to shine and contribute," Den said.

Not the two strong competitors Van Mai Huong or Phuong My Chi, Hoa Minzy is the Female Singer of the Year .

Hoa Minzy was shaking so much that she stepped on her own skirt when she received the award on stage. She shared that in the past 10 years, she has tried to find the most outstanding Hoa Minzy and just follow the trend, follow what she thinks is good.

It was not until 2023 that Hoa Minzy found what she thought "she did best, which was to convey beautiful national cultural values ​​through music".

On the stage of Dedication 2024, Hoa Minzy asked: "Are your family and villagers in Bac Ninh very happy?

Is Hoa's beloved Bac Ninh also very happy? Are all the people who love Hoa across the country also very happy?

"Hoa thanks everyone very much. Thank you my son," said the 9X singer.

Holding the trophy for the Musician of the Year category, young musician Hua Kim Tuyen said that 6 years ago, Hua Kim Tuyen attended the Dedication Music Awards ceremony at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Palace (Hanoi).

That year, musician Duong Cam won the Musician of the Year category. Tuyen sat below and found it a wonderful moment and did not know when she would be able to enjoy that feeling again.

"This award is a huge surprise for Hua Kim Tuyen. I never thought I would one day hold this trophy in my hands," Musician of the Year expressed.

Van Mai Huong's album Minh tinh surpassed the albums A Diary of Melody (Hoang Quyen), ai (tlinh), Ozone (OPlus) and Vu tru co bay (Phuong My Chi) to become Album of the Year .

Double2T received the double Song of the Year and New Artist of the Year thanks to the hit À Lỗi (composed by: Bùi Xuân Trường; performed by: Double2T ft Masew). The show of the year is named Vietnam Idol 2023.

DTAP is the Producer of the Year . Previously, DTAP won the Dedication Award in this category in two seasons 2020 and 2023.

In addition, the Impressive Dedication Award was given to the organizers of the Vietnamese Birds art program on the occasion of the 100th birthday of musician Van Cao.
