Support hundreds of households to harvest flooded rice

Việt NamViệt Nam12/09/2024

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 and heavy rain after the storm, many areas in the province were deeply flooded, causing damage to people's property and crops. At Nhong field (Go Giang) in zone 12, 13 of Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district, water flooded from many areas, causing flooding of more than 22 hectares of rice that was about to be harvested.

Ripe rice is soaked in water, if not harvested in time, there is a risk of total loss. With the motto "Better at home than in the fields", to quickly overcome the consequences and minimize the damage caused by floods, in recent days, local authorities, youth union members, farmers' associations... have harvested, threshed, and transported rice home for more than 100 households.

Support hundreds of households to harvest flooded rice

Youth Union forces support people to transport rice.

Although the water level in the fields was up to their chests, the forces still tried to move into deep areas to harvest and move the rice ashore. The timely intervention and joint efforts to help people in difficult circumstances by the forces and organizations will contribute to minimizing the damage caused by floods after storm No. 3, creating conditions for people to soon stabilize their lives and production.
