Reunion of many fates between CAHN team and Nam Dinh
Ahead of the 2024-2025 National Super Cup match, Coach Polking of CAHN Club shared frankly about the confrontation with Nam Dinh Club, the team that lost to them in the V-League 2024-2025 season.
The CAHN team held a press conference before the National Super Cup match. Quang Hai said: 'Although the club's leaders did not put any pressure on us, Hai and his teammates are determined to create the best performances and win, welcoming the memorable holiday of the police industry,' he declared. Two years ago, Quang Hai and the CAHN team missed the opportunity to win the Super Cup for the first time in the club's history. He said that the 0-3 defeat to Dong A Thanh Hoa in the 2023 National Super Cup match was an unforgettable memory. 'But now it's a different match, when the CAHN team is led by a different coach and we also have different players. I believe this Super Cup will mark a good start for the club,' the midfielder born in 1997 emphasized.

Coach Polking of CAHN team is very determined: 'We will bring the cup back to the capital'
The National Super Cup on August 9 is not only a match between the two best teams of last season, but also a fateful reunion. In the first leg of the 2024-2025 V-League, the CAHN team had an impressive 3-0 victory over Nam Dinh, but coach Polking said that all statistics become meaningless when entering a "do or die" match like the Super Cup.
According to the German-Brazilian strategist, past victories do not guarantee anything in the upcoming cup match.
"We defeated Nam Dinh in the V-League, but that doesn't mean anything anymore. In that match, Nam Dinh created many dangerous opportunities and CAHN won thanks to luck.
The rematch is completely different – the National Super Cup match, where only one team can win. The personnel on the field will also be very different, the mentality will also be different. Not to mention, Nam Dinh team will play at home at Thien Truong Stadium with the cheers of 20,000 spectators. So we have to try especially hard," Coach Polking emphasized in the press conference before the match.
"Nam Dinh is a strong team, with great cohesion and fighting spirit. They will not easily let us repeat the previous result. Anything can happen in the next 90 minutes," Mr. Polking added.
Fighting spirit and desire for titles
For the CAHN team, winning the Super Cup will be an important stepping stone to affirm their position in the Vietnamese football system, after a turbulent season. With a quality squad and an experienced coach, the police team is aiming for the first trophy of the new season as a strong statement.
Meanwhile, Nam Dinh, the defending champions, also want to assert their class and strength. Under the leadership of coach Vu Hong Viet, the team from Thanh Nam is showing great determination to keep the Super Cup from falling into the hands of the visiting team.
Coach Viet "do" asserted: "We have prepared the best, most carefully to defeat the opponent. How will the new players play? Please wait for them to show their performance in the match. They are A Mit (from Thanh Hoa), Dang Van Toi ( Hai Phong ) and three foreign players Njabulo Blom, Kyle Hudlin, Mahmoud Eid. However, I cannot reveal which of them will appear in tomorrow's Super Cup match."
Coach Polking has not revealed whether young rookie Brandon Ly will play or not.
