Recently, the Hanoi Department of Transport has sent a report to the Hanoi People's Committee proposing investment policies and pre-feasibility studies for a number of important transport projects of the city. Among them, there is the Ring Road 2 project, Nga Tu So - Cau Giay section (Lang Road).
According to the proposal, the investment project to renovate and expand the elevated and low-lying Ring Road 2 from Nga Tu So to Cau Giay has a total investment of over 21,000 billion VND. It includes 2 projects: the elevated Ring Road 2 project and the renovation of the low-lying Lang road.
The starting point of the elevated Ring Road 2 project will connect with the already built Ring Road 2 at the Nga Tu So intersection and the end point at the Cau Giay intersection. The route is 3.8 km long, 19 m wide, and has a speed of 80 km/h. The total estimated investment is nearly 3,900 billion VND, with an implementation period of 2026-2030.
The project to build and renovate Lang Street has an investment of 17,000 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance is 16,700 billion VND, the construction cost is 541 billion VND. The starting point is at Nga Tu So intersection and the ending point is at Cau Giay intersection.
Currently, the width of each side of Lang Road is 10.5m. After renovation, Lang Road will be 53.5m wide, with a design speed of 80km/h and will be the main urban axis.
It is known that the traffic from Nga Tu So to Cau Giay is often congested during rush hour. The Hanoi Department of Transport has implemented many traffic diversion plans, but the congestion during rush hour has not improved much.
