In this article, the author discusses the Renovation journey and its contemporary significance in building a new era - the era of socialism with prosperity and radiant prosperity.

Our Party is both the initiator and the leader of the Renovation in Vietnam. This event is considered by many economic experts to be "earth-shattering". Renovation is an event born in a very special historical journey and context, from which, with the successes achieved by the Renovation process, the author points out the epochal significance of this event for the next "Renovation" of the Vietnamese people, towards a new era - the era of national development.

The Journey of Innovation where the Party's will and the people's heart beat in unison

When mentioning the event of Doi Moi, we seem to relive the historical moments of the mid-1980s, the 20th century of the Vietnamese people, or we reflect and recall the historical mark called the 6th National Party Congress (December 1986). It was in the "difficult and winding" moments of that history that the Party's will and the people's hearts beat together to carry out the steps of Doi Moi.

Those steps are the journeys in which the Party needs the people and the people are always with the Party, standing under the Party's flag to carry out the great responsibilities of building a prosperous and radiant Vietnam of today, as the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once affirmed: "With all modesty, we can still say that: Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today".

In the early 1980s, with domestic difficulties as well as difficulties in the Socialist bloc in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, our Party met and analyzed the domestic and international situation to propose Resolution of the 6th Conference of the 4th Party Central Committee (August 1979) with the policy of mobilizing and encouraging all workers, all production capacity and economic sectors to increase production and improve the extremely difficult living needs of the people.

Following that, the Party Central Committee met and issued Directive No. 100 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on January 13, 1981 on product contracting to groups and workers in agricultural cooperatives, creating a huge step forward in agricultural production. This was one of the first resolutions of the Party, opening a new direction in supporting the promotion of domestic production to solve challenges and difficulties, and improve people's lives.

In the early 1980s, the socio-economic situation in our country was still very difficult and tense, inflation had increased to a particularly high level after two general price-wage-money adjustments.

All the socio-economic difficulties in our country at that time had subjective and objective causes, which were recognized and evaluated by our Party in the Political Reports of the Central Executive Committee presented to the 6th Congress as follows: "We were both subjective and hasty, and conservative and stagnant. In reality, these two aspects coexisted and both hindered the progress of the revolution."

Facing historical moments, our Party, with its mission as the leader and leader of the Vietnamese revolutionary boat, has truly understood the aspirations of the people, deeply understood the reality of the Vietnamese revolution, thereby promptly setting out the Renovation policy in a correct - timely - appropriate - close to historical necessity, to affirm that our Party is both the Party of the working class but also the Party of the Vietnamese nation, where the Party and the people share the same will, the same steadfast belief in the future of building a prosperous and radiant Vietnam in the future.

The significance of the times and lessons learned from Innovation in the New Era

Looking deeply into the Doi Moi event, we will see that the Party's innovative and creative thinking has always been consistent since its founding, as well as during the process of the Party leading the Vietnamese revolution.

The success of the Doi Moi event led by the Communist Party of Vietnam is a lesson of great historical significance, demonstrating the creative correctness of the Party in leading the revolution of the Communist Party of Vietnam and also affirming a spirit that General Secretary To Lam recently reaffirmed in his speech at the opening session of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front: "Our Party has no other interests than the interests of the people; the people are the center and subject of all policies and guidelines of the Party; all efforts of the Party, the State, and the entire political system are only meaningful when the people have a prosperous and happy life".

The success after 40 years of Renovation in Vietnam today is a valuable lesson of extremely important significance for Vietnam to continue Renovation in the New Era.

The first lesson; the lesson about the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the decisive factor for all victories of the Vietnamese revolution. In the process of innovation, we must firmly adhere to the goal of national independence and socialism on the basis of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought as the guiding principle for all actions of the Party.

Innovation in Vietnam is not a "change of color". Innovation in Vietnam must always be consistent in the spirit of not abandoning the goal of socialism but must have a more accurate and realistic perception of the country's practical situation to set out the correct revolutionary path, in accordance with economic laws, and properly resolve the relationships between economics, politics and society to clarify the historical mission of the working class and the Communist Party of Vietnam in leading our country's revolution in accordance with the historical laws of human society.

Therefore, Innovation in Vietnam is to make socialism more correctly perceived, built more effectively and especially create differences as well as "strong antibodies" to overcome obstacles called "crisis", thereby moving towards a beautiful, prosperous, and radiant society like today that our people are witnessing, mastering and especially enjoying those good results.

The second lesson; about the art of leadership and taking advantage of opportunities in Innovation. Innovation must be implemented comprehensively and synchronously, but must still ensure inheritance, appropriate steps, with the right forms and steps of implementation.

The success of Renovation after 40 years has shown that we must innovate from awareness, thinking to practical activities of socio-economic life, starting from economics, politics, foreign affairs to all areas of social life,...

Solving well the relationship between theory and practice, theory is the guide for practice, practice is the standard to "review" theory as well as supplement theory, that is the dialectical relationship that Marxism-Leninism has pointed out, our Party has creatively applied in the Renovation.

The third lesson: the Party relies on the people, arouses the strength of the people, promotes the national strength with the factor of the times, and makes the entire Vietnamese people firmly believe in the Party.

Looking back after nearly four decades of Renovation, the journey of the Party leading the Vietnamese people to achieve many great achievements, or in other words, the Party leads and accompanies the nation on the journey to create historical milestones in the new era.

Thus, it can be seen here that the Party leads the entire Vietnamese nation to promote the great national unity bloc (unity within the Party - unity among the people - unity between the Party and the people - unity between the nation and humanity) to create the highest crystallization of national strength and the strength of the times, thereby affirming a shining truth that the Communist Party of Vietnam is the Party of the Vietnamese nation.

Lesson four: about choosing and resolving correctly and creatively between market economy and socialist orientation in Vietnam.

Lesson five; about awakening the desire to be strong and rise up in the New Era - the Era of a prosperous and radiant nation.

The Party has identified and seized the right opportunity for the country to rise up together with the nation in the New Era towards socialism, a prosperous and brilliant society. Identifying the right and accurate target and opportunity plays an extremely important role in successfully carrying out revolutionary tasks for our nation to enter a New Era, the era of national rise when we have ripe conditions in terms of position and strength, combining national strength and the strength of the times to be able to carry out a Doi Moi revolution in Doi Moi to build a prosperous and brilliant Vietnam.

Thus, it can be seen through the journey of Doi Moi with the achievements of nearly 40 years of Doi Moi with successes and lessons learned that have proven a correct truth that the people's trust in the Party is increasingly consolidated. From that trust, it shows the unity and solidarity of the people and the Party to build a position of people's hearts, successfully carry out the Doi Moi initiated and led by the Party, thereby creating a solid foundation, creating position and strength for the country to firmly enter a new era - the era of national growth, a prosperous and brilliant era.
