From the morning of January 30, 4 special task forces of Hanoi City Police began to be deployed to handle traffic violations on National Highways 2, 3, 6, 32 and Thang Long Avenue (section through Hanoi City).

Each Special Task Force will include forces from: Traffic Police Department, Mobile Police, Drug Crime Investigation Police and Police of districts, towns, etc.

The forces will focus on controlling and handling violations: Drivers with alcohol or drug levels in their bodies; Speeding violations; Vehicles with "extended" cargo beds, overloaded or oversized cargo; carrying more people than the prescribed number...

According to VietNamNet reporters, at the Special Task Force of Road Traffic Police Team No. 9 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police), on duty on National Highway 32 (section through Phung Town, Dan Phuong District), the authorities placed markers to block part of the road to stop vehicles and check.

Traffic police will check the driver's documents, vehicle, invoices and documents of the goods carried on the vehicle and check the driver's alcohol and drug levels.

The entire inspection process by the Special Task Force lasted about 5 minutes and did not affect the driver's journey.

At 9:00 a.m. the same day, the authorities discovered a truck with license plate 29C-807.XX driven by driver HDC (residing in Phuc Tho, Hanoi), carrying more than 100 rolls of fabric. At the time of inspection, driver C. could not present any documents related to the above shipment. The task force handed over the vehicle and goods to Dan Phuong District Police and Market Management Team No. 20 for further investigation and clarification.

A few minutes later, the authorities continued to discover a car with license plate 17D-003.XX driven by driver PNC (residing in Ba Vi, Hanoi) carrying many frozen goods. At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered a batch of frozen goods including: Eggs, salted chicken, pig's feet... without labels, production date or expiration date. The task force also handed over the goods and vehicles to Dan Phuong District Police and Market Management Team No. 20 for further investigation and clarification.

Major Tran Quang Chinh, Deputy Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 9 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) said that to enhance traffic safety and ensure smooth roads, the special task forces of Hanoi City Police will be stationed 24/7 and work throughout the Lunar New Year.

"We are determined to deal with violations of alcohol concentration, drugs, and transporting bulky goods... to ensure that people can return home to celebrate Tet safely. This plan will be maintained from now until March 9," said Major Tran Quang Chinh.
