Transactions on the derivatives market in August 2023 increased sharply

According to HNX, the trading volume of VN30 index futures contracts increased by 49.51%, reaching an average of 228,360 contracts/session, and the average trading value (in nominal contract terms) reached VND27,815 billion/session, up 57.23% compared to the previous month.

Of which, the largest trading volume (Volume) of the month was in the trading session on August 22, 2023 with 405,937 contracts, which is also the session with the largest VOL since the beginning of the year.

At the end of the month, the open interest (OI) volume reached 49,759 contracts, down 19.84% compared to the previous month. Of which, the trading session on August 11, 2023 recorded the highest OI volume of the month with 60,926 contracts.

Regarding investor structure, the trading ratio of foreign investors in August 2023 was 2.49% of the total trading volume of the whole market. The trading ratio of securities companies (SCs) was 1.26% of the total trading value of the whole market.

In August, the TPCP futures product had no transactions, the open interest volume at the end of August 2023 of this product was 0 contracts.

The number of derivative securities trading accounts continued to increase, reaching 1,381,648 accounts at the end of August 2023, an increase of 3.02% over the previous month.
