Pig price today in the North
On the morning of May 2, the live hog market in the North continued to stabilize during the long holiday. The price of pigs in Tuyen Quang was recorded at 66,000 VND/kg, while in Bac Giang it was 67,000 VND/kg – unchanged from the previous session. Other localities such as Hanoi, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh kept prices around 66,000-68,000 VND/kg.
This development reflects the short-term supply-demand balance. The market has not recorded any new breakthrough signals as pork consumption during the holidays has not increased significantly, despite the weather and travel demand being somewhat more active.
Pig price today in the Central Highlands region
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the live hog market today continues to remain stable. The common purchase price still fluctuates between 69,000-71,000 VND/kg in provinces such as Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Thua Thien Hue. In Lam Dong, the price remains higher at 74,000 VND/kg.
After the strong fluctuations in April, the region is gradually entering a more stable period. Well-regulated supply and large-scale farming operations controlling costs are helping the market maintain calm.
Pig price today in the Southern region
The South is currently the region with the highest live pig price in the country, commonly fluctuating from 74,000-75,000 VND/kg. Key provinces such as Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Long An, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Kien Giang and Tra Vinh are currently recording a stable price of 74,000 VND/kg.
Some localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Hau Giang continue to maintain prices at 74,000-75,000 VND/kg, with no new fluctuations after the holiday. However, the market still has many potential factors that can affect prices in the coming time, especially when food demand is forecast to increase slightly again from next week.
