According to the data of the Border Guard of Dak Nong province, nearly 400 poor students have been supported by programs, projects and models: "Helping children go to school", "Adopted children of Border Guard stations", "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school"... with a total amount of more than 5 billion VND, including 12 Cambodian students.
The program “Helping children go to school” has been implemented by the Dak Nong Provincial Border Guard Command since September 2016, with 128 children supported and nearly 3 billion VND in support. Currently, the program is supporting 62 children, including 12 Cambodian students.

The “Adopted Children of Border Guard Stations” program was launched in September 2019, adopting 7 students from the working groups of Border Guard stations. The total amount of support for the children so far is nearly 440 million VND along with many clothes, books and other school supplies.
The project “Army officers and soldiers help children go to school” has supported 101 students in the 2022-2023 school year; 153 students in the 2023-2024 school year. The beneficiaries are ethnic minority children in especially difficult circumstances. The total amount of support for the children to date is more than 1.5 billion VND.
The “Godmother” model has been implemented by the Provincial Border Guard Women’s Union since 2023. Currently, the model is supporting 03 ethnic minority students with a budget of 500,000 VND/month for each student. The total amount of money and gifts supported to date is 21 million VND.
In addition, on holidays and Tet, the Provincial Border Guard has allocated a portion of the Program's Fund to give gifts to the children worth over 450 million VND. At the same time, officers and soldiers are regularly sent to the children's families to visit, encourage, and tutor them so that they can feel secure and study actively. Sharing the difficulties of the children, in the 2023-2024 school year, organizations and individuals will support the children with cash and gifts worth over 85 million VND.
In addition to the above practical forms to help the poor people in the border areas, with the motto "The station is home, the border is homeland", Dak Nong Provincial Border Guard also deploys the models: "Border Guard joins hands to build new countryside"; "Cadres and Party members of border guard stations are in charge of households"... not only beautifying the image of border guards in the border of the Fatherland but also contributing to building a solid position of people's hearts, the locality is increasingly renewed and developed.
