The conference was attended by leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the provinces of Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, along with experts, central representatives and hundreds of businessmen and investors from Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

Attracting projects requires focus and key points

At the conference, leaders of Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Quang Ngai and Phu Yen provinces took turns presenting papers introducing and promoting the potentials, advantages and preferential policies in attracting investment in their provinces.

The provinces hope that through the conference, they will continue to further tighten the cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast region in development programs, especially attracting investment projects.

The conference received many concerns and questions from businesses sent to the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and 6 provinces in the Central Coast region.

Responding to the question of what direction Ho Chi Minh City will take in providing specific support to each province in the coming time in introducing and promoting investment, Standing Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai said that in the past, the city has always maintained a channel to support localities in promoting investment through the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion. Therefore, localities that need to call for projects should register at the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion of Ho Chi Minh City to update and list. Through that, Ho Chi Minh City will organize investment promotion conferences, or will support localities when participating in meetings with domestic and foreign investors.

From this approach, in the past, Ho Chi Minh City has helped many provinces and cities in the region such as Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau attract many new projects, helping localities grow. In the future, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to maintain and strengthen the form of helping provinces in the Central Coast through the website of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade - Investment Promotion Center. Information about projects that provinces want to attract will be publicly posted on this website so that investors can easily learn and participate in investing in expanding projects.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee suggested that provinces need to select key projects with highlights to attract investment, and should not spread them out.

Promote green projects, renewable energy

At the event, many questions were sent by businesses to localities and the Institute of Energy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and experts, related to contents such as: viewpoints on green environmental protection in the development of industrial projects; policies to promote the flow of renewable energy projects, digital transformation, offshore wind power; policies on promoting infrastructure development, enhancing economical transportation, logistics, etc.

Responding to the question about the development perspective in the problem of environmental protection to adapt to climate change, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said: In the midst of the trend of climate change and natural disasters that are severely damaging economic infrastructure, human lives and property, the choice of green development in harmony with the environment needs to be given top priority.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, in the Central Coast region, due to the recent industrial development, the environment is still quite well preserved. In particular, forest coverage is also high, most of the provinces are adjacent to the sea and possess beautiful straits and bays, so there are many options for green development.

The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said that the Central Coast region has similar potential strengths, but there is one similarity that can be promoted together: renewable energy, offshore wind power, hydrogen fuel...

Dr. Tran Du Lich commented that if the Central Coast region wants to develop and grow rapidly, the first priority is still to choose industrial development. However, the industry here needs to be upgraded to green industry and digital industry.

Towards exporting renewable energy

At the conference, Mr. Dang Quoc Toan (representative of a business in Ho Chi Minh City) sent a question to the Institute of Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) regarding policies to master renewable energy and offshore wind power.

Mr. Toan said that the Central Coast region and Ho Chi Minh City have great potential for renewable energy development, so it is necessary to exploit this advantage so that Vietnam can not only produce renewable energy to serve its domestic economy but also export it to other countries to generate revenue.
