Provincial Road 864 Project is divided into 2 phases. Specifically, phase 1 (2022 - 2027) has a total investment of 2,463 billion VND, including: Component Project 1 is 126 billion VND, Component Project 2 is 2,337 billion VND. In phase 2 (2026 - 2030), it is expected to call for investment and mobilize other legal capital sources to synchronously invest in the entire route.

Accordingly, in phase 1, the project has a route length of about 94.9 km (new construction of about 21.8 km, upgrading and expanding of about 24.6 km, existing road of about 48.5 km); construction of new bridges and culverts on the route, load capacity HL93. In which, Component Project 2 phase 1 is invested by the Dong Thap Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. Component Project 2 is divided into 3 segments.

Specifically, the section from My Tho to provincial road 877B and Vam Giong bridge has been accepted and put into use.

The section from Long Binh to Den Do is under construction and is expected to be completed by June 2026. This section is divided into 2 packages, with a total length of about 14.79 km, an 11 m wide asphalt road surface, a 12 m wide roadbed, meeting level III Delta standards, with a value of about 487 billion VND, including: The section from Long Binh to Phuoc Trung is constructed by the Phuoc Hung - Minh Thai joint venture; the section from Phuoc Trung to Den Do is constructed by the Thien Thuan - Ticco - 525 joint venture. The cost of site clearance is about 305 billion VND.

Particularly, the segment from Den Do - Tan Thanh is carrying out site clearance work.

Provincial Road 864 Project is invested to promote the connection between Dong Thap province and other provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta; contribute to connecting economic zones in the province, creating smoothness, synchronization and further promoting the efficiency of the existing transport network, promoting the development of regional linkages.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, comrade Tran Tri Quang emphasized that in the exciting atmosphere of the cadres and people of the province, on the occasion of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the investment in the project is of great significance in order to gradually complete the vital road along the Tien River connecting East - West from Tan Thanh - My Tho Marine Economic Zone and connecting to Thuong Phuoc Border Gate Economic Zone in the future.
