DNVN - Emirates Airlines recently officially welcomed the first Airbus A350-900 aircraft to join its fleet at a special event in Dubai.

The Emirates A350 has a spacious three-class cabin, seating 312 passengers in 32 lie-flat Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy Class seats and 259 spacious Economy Class seats. The latest products on board reflect the airline’s commitment to delivering a premium passenger experience while maximizing operational efficiency. The Emirates A350 is the first new aircraft to join the Emirates fleet since 2008.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Group, said: “This is a significant milestone for Emirates as we introduce the first A350 and usher in a new era of growth for our fleet and network. This aircraft sets the stage for Emirates to expand further by adding range, efficiency and flexibility to our network, allowing us to meet customer demand in new markets and open up new opportunities in the cities where we operate. On board, we have updated the interiors and seating layouts to provide a more comfortable and premium experience for passengers across all cabin classes. The 65 Emirates A350s that will join our fleet over the coming years are in line with our overall plan and vision to support Dubai’s D33 Strategy, which aims to transform the city into a major hub for the global economy through expand connections and influence".

“We are proud to further expand our strategic partnership with Emirates, which has grown strongly over nearly four decades with the A300, A330, A340 and A380 Family,” said Philippe Mhun, Airbus Executive Vice President Programmes & Services. “Marking a new chapter for Airbus, we expect the A350 to become an important member of Emirates’ fleet and support the airline’s sustainability goals and expansion ambitions.”

In addition to the newly delivered A350, Emirates operates two other aircraft types worldwide to 140 destinations – the wide-body Boeing 777 and the iconic double-decker Airbus A380. The introduction of the A350 will allow Emirates to expand its network to new destinations around the world, including mid-sized airports that are not suitable for larger aircraft. Emirates’ A350 will be delivered in two versions – one for regional routes and one for ultra-long haul routes.

The airline plans to operate its first commercial A350 flight to Edinburgh on 3 January 2025. In the coming months, customers will be able to experience Emirates’ A350 Family at existing GCC destinations such as Bahrain, Muscat and Kuwait; Lyon and Bologna in Europe; Colombo, Mumbai and Ahmedabad in West Asia, in addition to new travel opportunities of up to 15 hours from Dubai to be announced in 2025.
