Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee delegation worked with the Vietnamese Association of Champasak Province

On the afternoon of April 11, the delegation of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Truong Cong Thai visited and worked with the Vietnamese Association of Champasak Province. Mr. Dong Cong Dung - Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Champasak Province chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Dong Cong Dung - Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Champasak province expressed his honor to welcome the delegation of Dak Lak province for the first time to visit and celebrate the traditional Lao Bunpimay New Year 2025 and at the same time inform about economic development activities and support for the Vietnamese community in Champasak province.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese community in Champasak has about 10 thousand people; including 1,100 households with 4,780 people who have lived in Champasak province for a long time and more than 5,000 people who have recently come to work and live. The community is all devoted to their homeland and constantly strives to preserve the national cultural identity, fostering the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the people of Vietnam and Laos.

Mr. Dong Cong Dung informed that currently, the Vietnamese Association of Champasak Province is a member of the Lao Front for National Construction of Champasak Province. In recent times, with the support of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Paske, the Association has implemented many meaningful and practical activities for the Vietnamese community on the occasion of major Lao holidays. The Association also proactively and actively supports and provides legal advice to the Vietnamese community when they want to come to the province to do business, thereby creating solidarity and trust in the community.

In particular, the Association has paid more attention to teaching Vietnamese to the young generation of Vietnamese people at the Champasak Provincial Friendship Primary School, thereby fostering the love of the country of the Vietnamese people and the understanding of the special friendship between the two Parties, two States and the two peoples.

In the coming time, the Association will continue to coordinate with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Paske and the Lao Front for National Construction in Champasak province to carry out more practical and effective activities to support the Vietnamese community in developing their economy and living in peace; at the same time, effectively implement the teaching of Vietnamese language to the younger generation.

On behalf of the delegation of Dak Lak province, comrade Truong Cong Thai expressed his pleasure to visit the Vietnamese Association in Champasak province; at the same time, sent wishes of health, happiness and success to the Executive Committee of the Association and the entire Vietnamese community in the province on the occasion of the traditional New Year Bun Pi May.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Truong Cong Thai hopes that the Association will continue to maintain and promote the teaching of Vietnamese language, preserve the national cultural identity in the overseas Vietnamese community; promote the solidarity of the entire overseas Vietnamese community to develop together, contribute economically to Champasak province; at the same time, organize many meaningful activities towards the homeland, be a bridge to create cooperation opportunities between Dak Lak and overseas Vietnamese businesses.
