Major General Huynh Van Ngon, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 9, presented a gift to Venerable Thach Oai, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Association of Patriotic Buddhist Monks and Monks, Abbot of Kom Pong Pagoda.

Also accompanying were the heads of the Military Region agencies; Colonel Le Van Thong, Deputy Political Commissar, Provincial Military Command. The delegation visited and presented gifts to Kom Pong Pagoda (Ward 1, Tra Vinh City), Hang Pagoda (Chau Thanh Town, Chau Thanh District) and Thlot Pagoda (Hiep Hoa Commune, Cau Ngang District).

At each place visited, on behalf of the delegation, Major General Huynh Van Ngon sent greetings from the Party Committee and the Command of Military Region 9 on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025 of the Khmer people.

Major General Huynh Van Ngon and members of the delegation sent their regards and New Year wishes to the monks, outstanding families of policy beneficiaries and Khmer people to welcome Chol Chnam Thmay 2025 with joy, warmth, solidarity and happiness. At the same time, they highly appreciated the contributions of Khmer Theravada Buddhist dignitaries, officials, monks and followers to the community, society and country in the past time.

The Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 9 hopes that in the coming time, the Management Board of pagodas and Buddhists will continue to promote the fine traditions, the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, self-improvement, and the will to rise up in life; preserve cultural identity and patriotic traditions to work with all levels, sectors, and local authorities to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and strive to successfully achieve socio-economic development goals and ensure national defense and security in the locality.
