However, according to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, some places in the northern mountainous region still have localized showers, although the weather is not as bad as the previous days.
On the night of August 31, the mountainous and midland areas of the North continued to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 15mm to 30mm, and some places experiencing over 70mm. The same situation also occurred in the North Central and South Central regions, with rainfall ranging from 10mm to 30mm, and some places experiencing heavy rain of over 60mm.
The Southern region is expected to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 15 to 30mm, with some places over 70mm.
Notably, from August 31 to September 2, the Central Highlands region will have heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 40mm to 100mm, and over 150mm in some places. From the morning of September 2 to September 3, this region will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 20mm to 50mm, and over 80mm in some places.
It is forecasted that from August 31 to September 6, the Southern and Central Highlands regions will have showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night.
Water levels on rivers in the Central Highlands are expected to change slowly. Water levels at the headwaters of the Mekong River will also rise slowly with the tide in the first 1 to 2 days, then change slowly.
People in areas affected by heavy rain, especially in the Central Highlands, need to be prepared and regularly update weather conditions to prevent risks of flooding, landslides and ensure safety during the holidays.
