On the afternoon of September 25, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held a press conference to provide information about the organization of the 2nd Mekong Delta Startup Forum - 2024, with the theme "Green Economy - New driving force for development". The program is chaired by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, taking place on November 29 and 30, 2024.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, said that the Mekong Delta Startup Forum was first held in 2022. The Mekong Delta provinces committed to promoting the goals of "Modern, circular, low-emission agriculture" and reducing 30% of total methane emissions by 2030 compared to 2020 levels in crop and livestock farming activities. Thereby, creating new momentum for economic growth, enhancing the position of the Mekong Delta region in the national and global economy.

According to Mr. Quang, after the first forum, Dong Thap has implemented many practical activities associated with commitments, typically, especially participating in the Project on sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta. However, the common challenges of the Mekong Delta region are still very large, so the second Mekong Delta Startup Forum is expected to contribute to promoting awareness and innovation goals, finding solutions for specific economic orientations of the Mekong Delta region based on the efforts and effective resource cooperation of both the public and private sectors.

In addition, through the activities of the forum, connecting resources and markets to support the development of products, startup projects, technology - services of Dong Thap province and the Mekong Delta. At the same time, honoring typical individuals, groups, and units in startup and innovation activities, forming a sustainable startup and innovation ecosystem on the basis of science - technology and digital transformation.
