Proposal to reduce health insurance premiums for students

On March 27, the Ministry of Health held a conference to deploy new regulations of the Law on Health Insurance (HI) and collect opinions on the draft decree detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance.

According to the draft, the contribution level, contribution support level and responsibility for health insurance contribution continue to be regulated at 4.5% of monthly salary, salary used as the basis for social insurance contribution, pension, and basic salary.

Regarding the level of support for health insurance contributions from the state budget for the poor, ethnic minorities, and ethnic minorities living in communes determined to no longer be in areas with difficult or especially difficult socio-economic conditions, it remains the same as current regulations.

New in this draft, the Ministry of Health proposes to increase the level of health insurance contribution support from the state budget to at least 50% (up from 30%) of the contribution level for high school students from grades 1 to 12.

This support level applies to high school students from grades 1 to 12, while university students will still receive the same 30% support. According to the policy impact assessment, the budget will spend about VND3,700 billion to support health insurance payments for high school students.

Liveshow The Wall - 30 years of 'the soul of rock'

The show attracted a majority of the 7x and 8x generation, who have been with the band since they were a student band. For three hours, the audience sang and danced with Buc Tuong, reviving the atmosphere of rock shows from the 1990s and 2000s.

Opening the show, Viet Lam performed a series of familiar songs such as Bong Hong Thuy Tinh, Tam Hon Cua Da, Niem Tin Cho Cat Bui. His warm, resonant voice and emotional singing style were similar to the late musician Tran Lap. In the following part, Pham Anh Khoa and Duong Tran Nghia exploded with songs full of hard rock and heavy mental. The band also introduced experiments with folk rock, through Bai Ca Song Hong (collaborating with moon-shaped lute artist Co Huy Hung) and Men Say (with bamboo flute artist Hoang Anh).

The Wall devoted many silent moments to remembering Tran Lap - the leader who led the band for two decades. With the melody of Memory, the organizers showed a video of the musician talking about the early days of the band. The song May Rain is a "dialogue" between two close friends, two former comrades - Tran Tuan Hung and Tran Lap. Tuan Hung's guitar and Tran Lap's voice in the recording blended together, moving the audience.

Hoa Minzy will not participate in the show "Pretty Sister" in China

Hoa Minzy shared that she refused to go to China to participate in the show "Beautiful Sister" to focus on domestic music projects. She also expressed her emotion and gratitude when receiving praise and encouragement from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and senior leaders about the MV "Bac Bling".

Hoa Minzy revealed that she turned down the opportunity to participate in the famous reality TV show "Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind" in China, to focus on domestic music projects, especially efforts to "internationalize" national cultural identity.

"This year, Hoa refused to go to China to participate in their show "Beautiful Sister" to focus on working in Vietnam. Missing an opportunity to try her hand internationally but trying to internationalize the national cultural identity. What I received through this project is so great and importantly, the recognition of the domestic audience gives me great motivation on my next artistic journey," Hoa Minzy shared on her personal page.

In February 2025, on her personal page, Hoa Minzy also confirmed to fans that she would not participate in any programs in 2025, including Chi dep ban trung according to information previously shared by the online community. She said "China did invite me, but this year I am quite busy with many projects, so I have refused to accept the invitation."

Previously, on March 24, during a dialogue with more than 300 young people with the theme "Vietnamese youth pioneering the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared about the MV "Bac Bling" by Hoa Minzy.

Japan builds world's first 3D printed train station

West Japan Railway Company (JR West) has built a station that includes parts made using 3D printing technology. This is the world's first station built using 3D printing technology.

The company said the station was built at Hatsushima Station in Arida City, Wakayama Prefecture, on the Kisei Railway Line; it is about 2.6 meters high, with an area of about 10 square meters. The station consists of four sections produced by Serendix, a Japanese construction company.

Serendix’s construction technology uses a process called 3D printing with mortar, which involves three steps. First, 3D printing technology is used to create molds for station components, such as roofs and walls, from mortar (a mixture of sand, cement, and water). The 3D printer prints the mortar layer by layer, creating the shape of the station components.

Once the molds are made, the manufacturer will place reinforcing steel (often called rebar) into the hollow sections inside the wall and roof structure. This reinforcing steel helps increase the durability of the structure, helping it to withstand force better.

Number of births in South Korea increases for 7 consecutive months

A total of 23,947 babies were born in January, up 11.6 percent from 21,461 births in the same month last year, Statistics Korea said.

This is the largest increase for January in any year since the agency began keeping records in 1981. This is the first time since 2015 that the number of births has increased in January.

The reason for this increase is believed to be the expansion of the population in their early 30s - the main childbearing age group. Young people's views on marriage and childbearing are also gradually changing in a positive direction, contributing to boosting the birth rate.

For years, South Korea has faced a serious decline in its birth rate as more and more young people delay or refuse to marry and have children.

To cope with this situation, the government has implemented many support policies such as marriage subsidies and child care programs.

As a result, 2024 marks the first time in nine years that the number of births in South Korea has increased, thanks to a recovery in the marriage rate after the pandemic, changing attitudes toward marriage and other demographic factors.

The agency's report showed a positive situation in January, when the number of married couples increased slightly by 0.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 20,153 couples, and the number of divorces also decreased by 12.8% to 6,922 cases.

However, along with the increase in the number of births, the number of deaths also increased sharply in January, reaching 39,473 cases, up 21.9% over the same period last year.
