Is there a difference in the admission scores of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy between the admission groups?

The Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has announced the difference in scores between admission combinations in the 2025 regular university admissions. This announcement applies to the admission benchmark scores for admission combinations of the same major based on the 2025 high school graduation exam results and the method of combining the 2025 high school graduation exam results with international certificates.

Specifically, combination B00 (math-chemistry-biology) is the original combination; there is no difference in admission scores between combinations A00 (math-physics-chemistry), B03 (math-biology-literature), B08 (math-biology-English) compared to combination B00 of the same major.

This year, most majors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy are recruited based on 2 groups B00 and A00. Only 3 majors use 1 group for recruitment including: medicine (B00), traditional medicine (B00), dentistry (B00). Social work alone uses 4 groups including: B00, A00, B03 and B08.

Thus, the benchmark scores of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2025 will not differ between admission combinations in the same major. For example, the pharmacy major between candidates using combinations B00 and A00 will have the same benchmark score; candidates applying for the social work major will also have the same benchmark score regardless of whether they apply for combinations B00, A00, B03 or B08...

In 2024, the admission score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy based on high school graduation exam scores ranges from 21.45 to 27.8 points. According to this method, the highest admission score for medicine is 27.8; dentistry is 27.35; and pharmacy is 25.72 points. For the admission method combined with international English certificate preliminary selection, the admission score is lower in "hot" majors such as: medicine is 26.95 points; pharmacy is 23.75 points; dentistry is 26.5 points...
